- Hertford Mercury and Reformer, Saturday, 24 January 1846: Highway Robbery - On Sunday, the 18th inst., three men named Amos Noble, John Saddler, and Robert Rosindale, all of Bassingbourn, were apprehended by Hodge, the police constable of that place, on the charge of stopping and attempting to rob Mr. George Titchmarsh, on his road home from Royston to Kneesworth, about twelve o'clock on the Wednesday night previous. They were taken before the Rev. W. Medcalf, the next day, who committed them to Cambridge for trial at the next assizes.
