Further information:  Attempting to identify and follow this particular line of Pitres, many of whom migrated to Michigan, has been extremely difficult.  The changes in spellings of both first and last names, missing census information, etc. has meant that sometimes the connections are educated guesses rather than provable facts.  I've included considerably more on these family pages in an attempt to identify those connections but also to provide a platform for others to compare their research.  If you have definitive proof that a connection is correct/incorrect, please email a scanned copy or a link to an online page.
