Obituary: The Moncton Transcript (Moncton, NB), Monday, 16 May 1955: The death of Francis Xavier Peters, of Collette, Northumberland county, occurred at his home Saturday evening after a long period of ill health. He was 84 years of age and was born in Hope River, P.E.I., and had resided in Collette for the last 45 years. He was a merchant and was well known by a large circle of friends who will learn with sorrow of his death. Surviving are his wife, the former Roseline Blaquier, of North Rustico, P.E.I.; four sons, Pius, Moncton; Francis, Saint John; Victor, Campbellton, and Ambroise at home; six daughters, Mrs. Joseph Black and Mrs. Edgar Martin, Collette, Mrs. Jaddus LeBlanc, Minto, Mrs. Blair Bourgeois, Hamilton, Ont.; Mrs. Yvon Maille, Gardner, Mass., and Mrs. M. E. Collette, Parkton. A solemn high mass of requiem will be celebrated in Notre Dame de Fatima church, Collette, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Obituary: The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Tuesday, 10 May 1977: The death of Roseline Pitre, widow of Francois Xavier Pitre, occurred Sunday morning at Villa du Repos after a brief illness. She was 86. Born in North Rustico, P.E.I., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Charlotte (Pitre) Blacquiere. She was the last member of her immediate family. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Lorette Black of Collette, Mrs. Jaddus LeBlanc (Bella) of Pre d'en Haut; Mrs. Emilien Collette (Regina) of Moncton, Mrs. Edgar Martin (Rosalie) of Collette, Mrs. May Bourgeois of Hamilton, Ont. and Mrs. Yvon Maillet (Therese) of Gardner, Mass.; three sons, J. Pius of Moncton, Francis of St. John, and Ambroise of Collette; 43 grandchildren. Her husband died in 1955. The body is resting at Collette. Mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame de Fatima Church at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Joseph Francis Xavier Pitre: Brenan's Bay View Funeral Homes (St. John, NB): The death of Francis J. 'Frank' Pitre, husband of the late Marie V. Pitre, occurred on March 31, 2006 at the Ridgewood Veteran's Wing. Born in Collette, NB, he was the son of the late Francois Xavier and Roseline (Blaquiere) Pitre. He served with the Canadian Army during WW II having been injured twice during his tour of duty. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #69. He was employed with the DVA Hospital until his retirement. He is survived by his sons Louis and his wife Martha, Yvon and his wife Claire, all of Fredericton, his grandchildren Lorna, Michael and Jennifer, his sisters Regina Martin of Moncton, Rosalie Martin of Rogersville, Therese Maillet of Gardiner, Mass, and Mary Borgeois of Ontario. His brothers Pious and Victor and sisters Lorette and Bella predeceased him. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, with visiting on Monday from 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at 12 Noon, from Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.

She is survived by ten children: Laurie Findlay of Vancouver, Anna Dineen of Fredericton, Marie Betts (Robert) and Eric (Kimberly), both of Riverview, Eloi Gerard (Aurelia) of Brampton, Ont., Emile (Patricia) of Medford, MA, Maurice (Eileen), Gerald (Yvette) and Richard (Patricia), all of Moncton and Louis (Sheila) of Saint-Jean; four sisters: Regina Collette of Moncton, Therese Maillet of Gardner, MA, Rosalie Martin of Collette and May Bourgeois of Hamilton, Ont.; one brother, Francis of Saint-Jean, and 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Mr. Pitre was found to be visiting friends in the Newcastle area.
Marie Rosalie Pitre: It is with sadness that we announce the death of Mrs. Rosalie Martin (nee Pitre), at the Foyer Assomption in Rogersville, on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the age of 96. She was the wife of the late Edgar Martin and lived in Rogersville, but formerly in Collette. Born August 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Xavier Pitre and the late Roseline Blacquiere. She is survived by four daughters: Gisele (Richard), Annette (Adelard), Claudette (Jean) and Aline; one son, Yvon; 14 grandchildren: Denise, Kevin, Alain, Nicole, Melanie, Michelle, Denis, Lynn, Daniel, Nada, Sarah, Adam, Nadine and Patrick; 16 great-grandchildren; a goddaughter, Yvette, as well as several nephews, nieces and friends. Ms. Martin was the last living member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar; one daughter, Rachel; a son, Euclid, as well as several siblings. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the “La Colombe” salon, in Rogersville. The funeral will be celebrated at the Community Center in Collette, the same day at 11 am. In memory of Rosalie, donations to the Chambre palliative du Foyer Assomption in Rogersville would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the staff at Foyer Assomption for the good care provided to their mother. (Pitre) Maillet, 81, of 12 Ash Street, Gardner died peacefully and returned to her maker, Tuesday, September 15th in UMass Memorial Medical Center, Lake Ave N, Worcester, surrounded by her children. Born in Canada on November 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Rosaline (Blaquiere) Peters. Therese graduated from high school in Canada, and attended secretarial school also in Canada. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. Therese devoted her life to raising her children and being a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, watching religious programs on television and praying the rosary. Therese was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Yvon J. Maillet who died July 14, 1999. She leaves three sons, Ronald J. Maillet and his wife Debora of Leominster, Raymond J. Maillet of Royalston and Paul R. Maillet of Chester, VA; four daughters, Atty. Nancy M. Binder and her husband Atty. Peter Binder of Gardner, Linda M. Maillet and her significant other Lucie Farrar of Loudon, TN, Rachel C. Maillet of Gardner and Paulette D. Maillet of Ashburnham; three sisters, Regina Collette of Moncton, NB Canada, Rosalie Martin of Rogersville, NB Canada and May Bourgeois of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; five grandchildren, Jessica and Katie Maillet, Amanda Algarin, Richard Binder and Brittany Gesner; four great-grandchildren, Jailyn, Anthony and Giovanni Algarin and Emma Binder; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
