Obituary for the son:

Robert Vincent Pitre:  Anacortes American (WA), Thursday, 10 December 2020:  Born October 26, 1935, at California Hospital in Los Angeles to Mary Trapani and Willis Waine Pitre.  Bob grew up in Highland Park, California and attended Divine Savior Elementary School and Mount Carmel High School.  He later received an AA degree from El Camino College.  Bob met his lifelong companion, Mary Helen Egan in 4th grade and they were married in All Saints Church, 64 years ago.  They lived in Inglewood, California and moved to Redondo Beach in 1958 where they enjoyed the South Bay lifestyle until 2004 when they moved to Anacortes, Washington.  He started his career in the mail room at PAC Bell and then went into home phone installations.  He joined AT&T in the company reorganization and stayed in data management and transmission.  After retirement, he went to work for TRW in their Redondo Space Park, managing data in many of their buildings until 1995.  Bob loved to travel and camp in many locations around the western United States.  On one of those trips, while waiting for the ferry, he discovered the Skyline area of Anacortes.  He built a home there and enjoyed many of the local activities making many friends along the way.  Bob enjoyed outdoor sports and had many interests in his life including motorcycles, snow skiing, bicycling, trap/skeet shooting and all forms of auto racing,  He was an active member of the Lynden Shotgun Club and enjoyed his Saturday outings there.  Bob "Poppy" was preceded in death by his parents and grand-daughter Dawn Veasey.  He is survived by his wife, Molly (Mary); their children: Laura (Michael Bevan) and John (Cindy) Pitre; their grandchildren: Jeremy Veasey, Kim Callahan, Jordan & Connor Bevan, Jacquelin, Jillian, Graham & Addison Pitre; great-grandchildren: Ryan Banuelos, Jack & Lily Callahan, Jake, Halle & Rachel Veasey and Liam Pitre.  The family would like to acknowledge the kindness of the staff at Island Hospital for their care during a brief stay and making Bob comfortable in his last days.  Bob will be interned into the Pacific Ocean off Catalina Island (one of his favorite dive spots) in a celebration of his life in the spring.  His family would also like to thank all of the people who knew Bob as a friend, confidant and trusted advisor.  You were important to him in many ways and made his life significant.  Memorials in Bob's name may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital Seattle, WA.
