Obituary:  Potsdam Courier & Freeman, Wednesday, 3 August 1938: Hopkinton: William Peet, 63, died at his home on the Parishville road Thursday night, July 28, after a long illness.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peet and was a native of this town.  He is survived by his wife Jane of Potsdam, by two sons, Raphael and Thomas and by one brother, Edward of Carthage.  The funeral was at Holy Cross church Saturday, July 30 at 10 a.m. Rev. Father Trudell officiated.  Interment was in Holy Cross cemetery here.

Obituary:  Potsdam Courier Freeman (NY), Thursday, 8 December 1960:  Funeral services were held Monday for Mrs. Jane L. Peet, 85, a lifetime resident of St. Lawrence County, who died last Friday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. in Potsdam Hospital.  Mrs. Peet had been in poor health since a stroke occurred a month ago.  The Rev. Albert Plante conducted the service at 10 a.m. in the Church of The Holy Cross in Hopkinton and burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery.  Mrs. Peet was born in Brasher Center, June 12, 1875, a daughter of Henry and Sophia Sobrey.  She was educated in the schools around Hopkinton and Nicholville.  She married William Peet in Hopkinton in 1898.  Survivors include two sons, Thomas, Hopkinton, and Ray, Nicholville; one grandson, Durwood Peet; one great grandson, Thomas Peet, Nicholville; one brother, Oliver Sobrey, Syracuse; and a sister, Elizabeth Pshlaw, Russell.

Obituaries for the children:

Raphel Joseph Peet:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 5 July 1973: North Lawrence:  Raphael J. Peet, 76, Hopkinton, died early Monday morning, July 2,1973, at the Charlebois Nursing Home following an illness of two years. The funeral was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Cross, Hopkinton.  Burial was made in Mound Hill Cemetery, Nicholville.  Mr. Peet is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Peet; a son, Durwood Peet, Hopkinton; two grandchildren, Thomas and Nancy, and a brother, Thomas, Hopkinton.  Mr. Peet was born in the Town of Hopkinton Jan. 1,1897, son of William and Jane Savery Peet.  He married Emma Russell Jan. 23,1918.  For 20 years, he was employed by the State Highway Department, retiring in 1962.  He was a communicant of the church of the Holy Cross, Hopkinton.

Mabel Peet:  The Norwood News (NY), Tuesday, 21 August 1900:  Helena - Aug. 18 - Little Mabel Peets, of Hopkinton, died last week at the home of her grandfather, Henry Sabrey, in the Schoff district.

 

Thomas William Peet:  Potsdam Courier Freeman (NY), Tuesday, 19 September 1978:  North Lawrence:  Funeral services for Thomas W. Peet, 76, Hopkinton, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 1978 at Anderson Funeral Home, North Lawrence, the Rev. Anthony Pease officiating.  Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hopkinton.  Mr. Peet died Wednesday evening (Sept. 13, 1978) at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.  Surviving is a sister-in-law, Emma Peet.  Mr. Peet was born in Helena, Jan. 21, 1902, son of William and Jane Sabry Peet.  He was a barber in St. Regis Falls and Hopkinton all of his life, retiring about four years ago.

Mildred Peet:  Potsdam Herald (NY), Friday, 27 August 1926:  Hopkinton:  The community was saddened last week by news of the death of Miss Mildred Peet, who died at Potsdam on Wednesday afternoon.  Miss Peet had been a sufferer from tuberculosis for two years.  Last year she was in a sanitarium at Oswego but as she did not improve her mother brought her to Potsdam and has cared for her since.  She was a very popular young lady and leaves a host of friends here where she was born and lived until three years ago.  She was twenty-one years old.  She is survived by her father, William Peet of this place, her mother of Potsdam, and two brothers, Raphael of Fort Jackson and Thomas of this place.  The funeral was held at the Potsdam Catholic church on Friday with interment in the Catholic cemetery at Brasher Falls.
