Obituary: The Courier (Houma, LA), Sunday, 31 July 1988: (photo) Willis "Pete" Joseph Pitre, 72, a native and resident of Houma, died at 11:05 a.m. Friday. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel with interment following at Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by four sons, Aaron Pitre, Roland Pitre Sr., Lanny Pitre and Robert Pitre, all of Houma; three daughters, Shirley Pitre, Mrs. Diane Pitre and Mrs. Roberta Voclain, all of Houma; two brothers, Gilton Pitre and Sylvest "Louis" Pitre, both of Houma; three sisters, Mrs. Amos (Bessie) Melancon and Mrs. Agnes Pitre, both of Houma, and Mrs. Liz Baus of New Jersey; and 13 grandchildren.
