Obituary:  Ocala Star Banner (FL), Thursday, 1 March 2012:  Summerfield - Wallace LaShomb, 82, of Summerfield, passed away at Tuscany Hospice House on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.  A native of Massena, NY, he moved to Summerfield 30 years ago.  Mr. LaShomb was a retired Inspector for Alcoa Aluminum.  He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, was involved in Neighborhood Watch, enjoyed square dancing, and was a great handy man.  Survivors include his wife Elaine of Summerfield; sons Richard LaShomb of Massena, NY, Clark (Gail) LaShomb of Hudson, NY, Glenn (Rosa) LaShomb of Winthrop, NY; step-sons Chris Travers of Malone, NY, Steven (Cindy) Travers of Malone, NY, Mark Travers of Ocala; step-daughter Vicki (Lloyd) Widrick of Orlando, FL; daughter-in-law Mary Pelkey of Ocala; brother Leland LaShomb of Syracuse, NY; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.  He was preceded in death by his son Douglas LaShomb.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10-11a.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Belleview.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Alzheimer's and Dementia Alliance of Florida, Ocala, FL

Obituary:  North Country Now (Potsdam, NY), Monday, 28 November 2016:  Massena - Mrs. Rita Margaret Davis, 87, of 14 Hall Road, peacefully passed away early Saturday morning, November 26, 2016 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, where she had been a patient since November 16, 2016.  Rita was born July 29, 1929 in Massena, the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Sharlow Yaddow.  She married Wallace LaShomb in 1948, which ended in divorce.  On July 27, 1981, she married Clarence "Ken" Davis.  He predeceased her on July 22, 1994.  Rita was a homemaker and worked for Michelle Audio Corporation from 1970 until 1981.  She was a communicant of the Church of the Sacred Heart and a member of the Massena Senior Citizens.  She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.  She also enjoyed music, dancing, and truly loved life.  Rita is survived by her sons and their wives, Clark and Gail LaShomb of Hudson, New Hampshire and Glenn and Rosa LaShomb of Winthrop; her step-children, Linda Carr of Brasher Falls, Sally Arbuthnot of Cornwall, Ontario, Joanne Lyles of Goose Creek, South Carolina and Albert Davis of Massena; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister, Ruth LaBar of Massena; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Rita was predeceased by two sons, Douglas and Richard LaShomb; her sisters, Beatrice St. Thomas and Gladys Yaddow; and her brothers, Franklin and Edward Yaddow.  Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, Friday 2-5:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 10:00 a.m. at The Church of the Sacred Heart.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.  Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.

Richard Lashomb:  North Country Now (Potsdam, NY), Thursday, 13 October 2016:  Massena - Richard J. LaShomb, 67, of 18 Cecil Avenue, peacefully passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.  Richard was born May 6, 1949 in Massena, son of Rita Yaddow Davis and the late Wallace LaShomb.  After graduating High School, he went to meat cutting school in Utica and Auctioneering School in St. Louis, MO.  He worked for several years as a meat cutter for Winn-Dixie in Florida.  He was a member of the Senior Citizens of Massena, and loved playing guitar.  He enjoyed charity auctioneering many years ago, and dressing up as Santa Clause to bring joy and cheer to many.  He also followed astronomy and Horoscopes, and Tarot card reading.  Richard is survived by his son, Kevin and Susan LaShomb of Williamstown, VT; four grandchildren, Tanika, Kiana, Kaelob, and Alissa; three great-grandchildren, Chance, Mae and Austin; his mother, Rita Davis of Massena; his companion of 15 years, Rosemary Pacific; two step-children, Eleanor and Alex Pacific; two step-grandchildren, Kristin and Juliana; two brothers, Clark and Gail LaShomb of Hudson, NH; and Glenn and Rosa LaShomb of Winthrop.  He was predeceased by his father, Wallace; and his brother, Douglas LaShomb.  Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home.

 

Douglas Lashomb:  Watertown Daily Times (NY), Tuesday, 23 September 2003:  Douglas LaShomb, 46, Ocala, Fla., formerly of Massena, died Aug. 29 at his home.  He had been ill with cancer.  Mr. LaShomb was a self-employed landscaper in Florida as well as doing carpentry, house painting and lawn mowing.  He was also a horse farm caretaker.  Born Dec. 21, 1956, in Massena, son of Wallace and Rita Yaddow LaShomb, he graduated from Massena High School in 1975.  He married Mary Pelkey on Aug. 28 at their home in Florida.  He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, listening to country music, camping, barbecuing and traveling.  Surviving besides his wife are his mother, Rita LaShomb Davis, Massena; his father and stepmother, Wallace and Elaine LaShomb, Ocala; three brothers, Richard, Massena, Clark, Hudson, and Glenn, Winthrop, three nieces and two nephews.  A memorial Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church, Hogansburg, with the Rev. Stephen Rocker officiating.  Burial was in Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, Ocala.  There will be no calling hours.  Local arrangements are with Donaldson Funeral Home.

Clark Lashomb:  North Country Now (Potsdam, NY), Friday, 4 February 2022:  Clark LaShomb, 69, of Hudson NH passed away on Jan. 29, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  Clark was formerly of 14 Hall Road, Massena.  He attended Massena schools and BOCES in Norwood as an automotive mechanic tech.  He worked at several car dealerships and continued courses.  He was a mechanic for 50 years.  In the 1970's, he lived in Washington, VT, with his own business at his home where he raised his family.  In the early 1980's, he moved his family to Hudson, NH.  He was a "natural" artist of drawing and canvas oil paintings.  He was also a leather crafter.  He loved NASCAR races, as well in his younger days he built his own stock cars and raced in Vermont on weekends.  Clark is survived by his wife Gail of Hudson, NH, three daughters; Angela "Annie" Lawrence and her companion Rich of Barre, VT, Tracey and Aristotle Mereves of Boston, and Heidi and Miguel Diaz of Hudson, NH, his step-mother Elaine LaShomb of Malone, three step-brothers; Steven Travers of Malone, Mark Travers of Inglis, FL and Albert Davis of Massena; four step-sisters; Vicki Travers of Croghan, Linda and John Car of Brasher Falls, Sally Arbuthnot of Cornwall, Ont., Joahnne Lyles of South Carolina; and several cousins.  He is also survived by four granddaughters; Makala, Olivia, Sophie and Chloe, all of NH, as well as a grandson; Michael Diaz of NH.  Clark is also survived by his ex-son-in-law, Gene, of Nashua, NH.  Clark is also survived by one brother; Glenn and his wife Rosa LaShomb of Winthrop, two nephews; Christopher and his wife Emily LaShomb of Brasher Falls and Kevin and Susan LaShomb of Summerfield, FL.  He was predeceased by a brother; Douglas LaShomb of Ocala FL, in 2003, his father Wallace "Wally" LaShomb of Ocala FL, in 2012, his mother Rita LaShomb (Davis), in 2016, and his step-father Clarence "Ken" Davis of Massena, in 1994, his oldest brother Richard LaShomb of Massena in 2016 and a step-brother Chris Travers of Malone, in 2020.  There will be no services due to COVID-19.  Donations can be made directly to Clark's family.
