Bossetta and Mrs. Joseph Holland; sister of Mrs. Dalton Guidry of Larose, La., Willie, Harris, Joseph and Eddie Melancon; aged 66 years; a native of Larose, La., and a resident of this city for the past 24 years.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral, which will take place on Wednesday, May 30, 1956, at 9:30 o'clock a.m., from the funeral home of Lamana-Panno-Fallo, Inc., 625 North Rampart street, near Municipal Auditorium.  Requiem mass at St. Louis Cathedral, Chartres and St. Peter streets.  Interment in St. Louis No. 3 cemetery.

Simon Anthony Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Sunday, 14 November 1999:  Simon Anthony Pitre, Sr., age 77, died on Thursday, November 11, 1999 at 11:30 P.M.  Beloved husband of the late Frances Wheat Pitre.  Father of Simon Anthony (Tony) Pitre, Jr.  Devoted companion of Marie Mandill.  Son of the late Emily Melanson and George Pitre.  Brother of Jeannette Holland, Mike Pitre, and the late Mabel Bossette, and Rose Plaisance.  Grandfather of Christina Pitre.  Step-grandfather of Craig and Roy Moran.  Mr. Pitre was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Arabi, LA.  Relatives and frineds of the family, also members of VFW Hinton Causey Post No. 7194 are invited to attend the funeral services from the Chalmette location of St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Vatue Street, Chalmette, LA on Monday, November 15, 1999 at 1:00 P.M.  Interment in St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery.  Visitation after 10 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday.

 

Mike Pitre:  The New Orleans Advocate (LA), Saturday, 4 April 2020:  Mike P. Pitre, born February 15, 1925 in Cutoff, LA and a longtime resident of Kenner, LA, passed away on March 30, 2020 at East Jefferson General Hospital.  He was an owner and trainer of thoroughbred race horses.  Mike and his wife Verna were the golden couple on the dance floor for several years at The Jefferson Orleans in Metairie.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Verna Bertin Pitre, with whom he shared 70 years wonderful years of marriage and romance.  He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Doris Ramirez; parents, Amelia and George Pitre; brother, Simon Pitre; and sisters, Rosie Plaisance, Mabel Bossetta and Janet Holland.  He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Nancy De Salvo (Donald Sr.) and Betty Heath (George, Sr.).  Mike's legacy lives on through his devoted grandchildren, Donald De Salvo, Jr. (Emily), Deanne Siewert (Thaddeus), Darren De Salvo (Leslie), Michelle Le Febvre (the late Phil), Angelle Russo (Jeffery), Michael Heath, Jr. (Rebecca) and Chantelle Webb (Terrence); nieces, Judy Beeson (Jon), Diana Potter (Steve), Gloria Bossetta, Jane Holland and Nicole Matherne (David); and nephew, Bob Oberlind.  Also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.  Appreciation to my Father's caregiver, Connie Bauer.  As a result of present circumstances the funeral and committal services are private.  All of our family members would appreciate if everyone would keep my father in their prayers.  Arrangements by L. Janet Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 22 October 2010:  Janet Pitre Holland passed away peacefully on October 18, 2010 at the age of 79 in Slidell, LA.  She was the wife of the late Joseph B. Holland, Sr.  She is survived by her daughter Jane Bray Lusk and son Joseph B. Holland, Jr.  Grandchildren Kenneth Holland, Lisa Holland and Brandi Brau.  Daughter of the late George and Emily Pitre.  Sister of Mike Pitre and the late Rosa Plaisance, Mable Bossetta and Simon Pitre.  A resident of New Orleans, LA for 45 years and of Slidell for the past 34 years.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass from the New Orleans Home of Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal St. at N. Scott, on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11:00 am.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until service time.  Interment will follow In St Louis No.3 Cemetery.
