Obituary:  Boston Globe (Boston, MA), Wednesday, 19 April 1979:  Peters - Walter F. Sr., District Chief Boston Fire Dept., retired, of Quincy, April 17, beloved husband of Gertrude (Murphy) Peters, father of Walter F. Peters Jr. of Scituate, William J., James F., Miss Patricia Peters and Mrs. Loretta Oliva of Quincy, brother of Mrs. Ruth Devolder and Marguerite Peters of Osterville, also survived by 4 grandchildren.  Reposing at the Joseph Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St., Quincy Center, until 8 o'clock Friday morning.  Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Merrymount at 9 o'clock.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  Visiting hours Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Interment Pine Hill, West Quincy.  Late Chief, Boston Fire Dept., District No. 10 Roslindale and Hyde Park.

Obituary:  The Patriot Ledger (Quincy, MA), Saturday, 29 September 2012:  Quincy - Gertrude M. (Murphy) Peters, age 96, of Quincy, died peacefully, Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Quincy Medical Center.  She was born in Boston, raised and educated in Dorchester schools and was a graduate of Dorchester High School.  She had lived in Quincy for 55 years.  Gertrude was a homemaker but as a young woman had worked in the accounting department for the former Parker Danner Construction Company in Hyde Park for 10 years.  She previously worked several years in the probation office at the Federal Courthouse in Boston.  She was an avid gardener and reader.  She also enjoyed trips to Twin Rivers with her daughter, Patricia.  Beloved wife of the late Walter F. Peters, she was the devoted mother of Patricia A. Peters of Quincy, Walter F. Peters Jr. and his wife Donna of Scituate, Loretta M. Oliva McTiernan and her husband James "Macca" of Quincy, James F. Peters and his wife Susan of Taunton, the late William J. Peters and his wife Noreen of Quincy; loving grandmother of seven grandchildren and six cherished great-grandchildren.  She was also grandmother of the late Amanda Peters.  Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, Quincy, Monday, Oct. 1, at 9 a.m.  Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Quincy, at 10 o'clock.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.  Visiting hours Sunday 2-5 p.m.  Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.  For those who wish, donations in Gertrude's memory may be made to the Quincy Lions Club, Quincy, MA.

Patricia Ann Peters:  The Patriot Ledger (Quincy, MA), Wednesday, 22 January  2020:  Quincy - Patricia A. Peters, age 77, of Quincy, died peacefully, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, in the comfort of her loving family.  Patricia was born in Boston, raised and educated in Hyde Park and Quincy schools and was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1960.  She was also a graduate of Bridgewater State College and later earned a Master's degree from Suffolk University.  She had lived in Quincy for most of her life.  As a young woman, with a strong sense of helping others, Pat joined the USO and served in Vietnam and later taught in the central American countries of Costa Rica, Honduras and Guatemala.  Returning to the United States, she taught in Beverly before working in Hanover for fifteen years as a reading teacher.  She was also a text book sales representative for the former Scott Forsman Publishing Company for many years.  Patricia loved the ocean and Nantasket Beach.  She also enjoyed books, reading, fine dining and trips to Foxwoods with family and friends.  She cherished her family and was the loving care giver to her parents, the late Walter F. and Gertrude M. (Murphy) Peters.  She was the devoted sister of Walter F. Peters, Jr. and his wife Donna of Scituate, Loretta M. Oliva Mc Tiernan and her husband James "Macca" of Quincy, James F. Peters and his wife Susan of Taunton, and the late William J. Peters and his wife Noreen of Quincy.  Loving aunt of seven nieces and nephews and ten great-nieces and great-nephews.  She was also the aunt of the late Amanda C. Peters.  A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, January 25, at the Common Market Restaurant, West Quincy from 12 - 2 p.m.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.  or those who wish, donations in Patricia's memory may be made to Hanover Permanent Scholarship Fund, Hanover, MA.  Arrangements under the direction of the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, Quincy.
