Obituary:  Potsdam Courier and Freeman, Tuesday, 7 October 1975:  Wayne LaShomb:  Services for Wayne A. LaShomb, 46, of 56 Prospect Street in Norwood, who died unexpectedly Wednesday night at his home were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew's Church in Norwood.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Massena.  LaShomb was declared dead at the Potsdam Unit of the Central St. Lawrence Health Services where he was rushed.  He was born in Massena, May 28, 1929 the son of Leon A. LaShomb of Massena and the late Ethel Fregoe LaShomb.  He attended schools in Brasher Falls, joined the U.S. Air Force June 22, 1948 and served in the Berlin Air Lift and occupation forces in Germany.  He was honorably discharged June 21, 1952 at Westover Air Force Base as a Staff Sergeant, Senior Air Transportation Specialist.  Employed by General Motors Plant, he became disabled in 1969 following an industrial accident at the plant.  He and Anita Beaulieu were married November 22, 1952 in Sacred Heart Church in Massena.  He was a member of St. Andrew's Church in Norwood and a member of the St. Lawrence Lodge 1141, Knights of Columbus in Massena.  Surviving is his widow; his father, Leon LaShomb, Massena; three sons, Calvin, currently in the USAF in Maine, Scott, 11 and Bruce 9; four daughters, Mrs. Michael (Rose Ann) Farnsworth, Potsdam, Mary Jane 19, Nancy 17, and Susan 15 at home; one sister, Eileen Farnsworth, Arizona; seven brothers, Victor, Brasher, Harvey, North Lawrence, Hugh, North Carolina, Clark, Norfolk, Earl, Arizona, Stanley, Potsdam, Clement, Massena and several nieces and nephews.

Obituary:  North Country Now (Potsdam, NY), Wednesday, 12 November 2014:  Anita B. Beattie, 82, of Willard Rd. Louisville passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday (Nov. 11, 2014) at CVPH in Plattsburgh.  Friends and family are welcome to call at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena on Friday Nov. 14, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  A mass of resurrection will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 15, 2014 at St. Lawrence Church with Rev. Donald J. Manfred officiating.  Burial will take place in the parish cemetery in Louisville.  Anita is survived by her husband, Lawrence J. Beattie; seven children, Calvin and Joyce LaShomb of Massena, Rose Ann and Jan Lewis of Potsdam, Mary Jane and Gordon Jock of St. Regis Falls, Nancy and Mark Robideau of Massena, Susan LaShomb Randall and her companion Ronald Towne of Potsdam, Scott LaShomb of Louisville, and Bruce and Carrie LaShomb of Colton; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  Anita was born on May 4, 1932 in Massena, to Odilon and Emilienne Beaulieu.  She was one of 11 children, Sylvio, Gabriel, Paul, Claude, and Aline Sucese who predeceased her; Sister Lucille Beaulieu of Omaha, Nebraska, Marc and Shirley Beaulieu of Massena, Dora and Victor Fregoe of Massena, Louise and David Langdon of Sumner, Mississippi, and Agnes and Paul Connor of Show Low, Arizona.  Anita attended school in Massena, graduating from Norwood-Norfolk High School in 1951.  She worked for a short time at Alcoa as a key punch operator and was married to Wayne A. LaShomb on November 22, 1952 who predeceased her on October 1, 1975.  Anita also worked as a waitress at the Village Inn Restaurant in Massena and then as a foodservice worker at Potsdam College for 23 years.  Anita retired from PACES Dining Services in 1995.  Anita was married to Lawrence J. Beattie on November 17, 1979 and they spent 35 wonderful years together.  She enjoyed camping, reading, spending time in her flower gardens, crocheting and going to the Casino.  Anita also enjoyed traveling to Florida for the past 12 winters, and relaxing and enjoying family and friends at the Beattie Woodlot.  Those wishing to make donations in Anita's memory may do so to a charity of one's choice.
