Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Friday, 24 February 1989:  Funeral services for Mr. Theodore Pitre, 84, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Prairie Ronde.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, died at 12:20 p.m. Thursday in Doctors' Hospital in Opelousas.  Survivors include his wife, Rose Ledoux Pitre of Opelousas; two sons, Raymond Pitre of Opelousas and James Pitre of Ville Platte; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  Visiting hours are from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. until time of services.  A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today.  Lafond-Ardoin Guardian Chapel on North Main in Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 8 December 1991:  Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Theodore Pitre, the former Marie Rose Ledoux, 82, at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Church and Cemetery in Prairie Ronde.  Mrs. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday at Opelousas General Hospital.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m.  A Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. tonight.  Visitation resumes 7 a.m. Monday until time of service.  Survivors include: two sons, Raymond Pitre of Opelousas and James Linwood Pitre of Ville Platte; two sisters, Lillian Pitre of Opelousas and Ella Guillory of Mamou; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), 7 October 2009:  (photo included) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mr. Raymond Pitre, 80, at 3:30 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2009, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park.  The Reverend Paul Bienvenu will be the Celebrant.  Mr. Pitre,

who was a native and lifelong resident of Opelousas, died on the morning of Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at his residence.  Mr. Pitre was retired school bus driver and a retired employee of the St. Landry Parish School Board.  He loved spending time with family and friends, but he had a special place in his heart for his beautiful grandchildren.  Those who knew and loved him will sadly miss him.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Iris Vidrine Pitre, of Opelousas; a son, Michael K. Pitre and wife Wendy, of Opelousas; a daughter, Rebecca Pitre Wilson of Smyrna, Ga.; a brother, James Linwood Pitre and wife Celia, of Ville Platte; four grandchildren, Tammy W. Spain, Paula Deal and husband, Brady, Michaela M. Pitre, and Matthew M. Pitre; six great-grandchildren, Kaylee Wilson, Parker Spain, Peyton Spain, Leah Spain, Kyler Spain and Easton Deal.  Mr. Pitre was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Rose Ledoux Pitre; and his mother and father-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Vidrine.  Mr. Pitre's pallbearers will be Chad Pitre, Ronald Pitre, Kyle Pitre, J.F. Vidrine, Brady Deal, Donald Dupre, and Matthew M. Pitre.  Visiting will be held in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on Thursday from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will reopen Friday at 8 a.m. until service time.  A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.
