Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), December 1993: Thomas Pitre Jr. - A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland for Thomas Joseph Pitre Jr., 69, a native of Raceland and a resident of Luling, who died at 7:38 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5.  Visitation will be 5 to 10 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland.  Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park in Avondale.  He was the husband of Florence Thibodaux Pitre; father of Johnny Pitre of Cleveland, Tenn., Dick and Thomas Pitre III, Hope Zeller and Marilyn Farrell, all of Luling, Joyce Horn of Ama, Jane Ogea of Baton Rouge, Helen Thigpen of Gretna and Carolyn Andrews of Mansfield; brother of Warren Pitre of Luling, Dorothy Daigle of Raceland and Barbara Bourgeois of Lockport; half brother of Russell Myers of Jackson.  He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Pitre Sr. and Blanch Gaudet Pitre Myers; a brother, Curren Pitre; and a half brother, Larry Myers.  He was a member of V.F.W. 3750 and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.  Falgout Funeral Homes of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.

Dick Pitre:  The New Orleans Advocate (New Orleans, LA), Tuesday, 17 August  2021:  Dick "Pete" Pitre passed away on Thursday evening, August 12, 2021.  He was 67 years old.  Beloved husband of Deborah Watson Pitre.  Loving father of Tracy Pitre Guidry (Jason), and Dwan Pitre.  Grandfather of Jaselyn Michelle Guidry, Joseph Michael Guidry, Christopher Lee Switzer Jr., Jacob Cole Switzer, and Raph Conner Veillon.  Brother of Joyce P. Horn, Jane P. Ogea, Thomas Joseph Pitre, III., Marilyn P. Farrell, Carolyn P. Andrews, Helen P. Johnson, Hope P. Zeller, and the late Johnny Joseph Pitre.  Son of the late Florance Thibodeaux Pitre and Thomas Joseph Pitre, Jr.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Dick was a lifelong resident of Luling.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army, and retired from Shell Oil Company in Norco after over 15 years of service.  He and Debbie owned two Edsels, and he was a proud member of the International Edsel Club.  He was a skilled mechanic that always was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it.  Pete had infectious laugh, strong personality, and terrible dancing skills that will be greatly missed by many.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to celebrate his life at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 10:00 until 12:00 noon.
