Obituaries for the children:

Hazel Peete:  MISC:  Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Saturday, 31 January 1931:  Divorce Cases - A contest is expected in the divorce action of Cornelius D. Murray, of this city, against Hazel I. Murray, of Lake Clear, by her father, Theodore Peete, as guardian ad litem, scheduled for trial before Justice Clayton I. Miller of Pulaski at the equity term of supreme court to be convened here Monday.  The case is one of the new ones on the calendar, Attorney H. C. Teepell of this city appearing for the plaintiff and defendant being represented by Attorney Francis B. Cantwell of Lake Clear.  Plaintiff and defendant were married by City Judge Joseph A. McConnell in the city April 30, 1929, and separated July 1, 1930, no children having yet been born to them.  It is alleged by plaintiff that defendant was with an unknown co-respondent at 273 Franklin street Jan. 15 and 16 and Feb. 24 and 25, 1930 and at 925 Riggs avenue in March and April.  Defendant denies the charges.  On Dec. 19 her father was appointed guardian ad litem for her, she being but 20 years of age.

- Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Tuesday, 2 June 1931:  Receiving calls from other men at her apartment, 271 Franklin street, while her husband was at business, parties and automobile rides, featured the testimony against Mrs. Hazel I. Murray, 20-year-old defendant in a divorce action brought against her by Cornelius D. Murray, young automobile salesman, when the case came before Justice Edward N. Smith at his divorce term today.  Justice Smith indicated that he would grant the interlocutory decree and order the minutes.  The custody of the four-months-old daughter, Audrey Marie, will be awarded to Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Peete, parents of the defendant.  Mr. Peete has charge of a boys' camp near Saranac Lake and both he and his wife indicated a desire to take the child.  This also proved satisfactory to the husband.  Attorney Herbert C. Teepell appeared for the plaintiff and Attorney Charles C. Johnson for the defendant.  The action was contested, Attorney Johnson moving for a non-suit at the conclusion of the affirmative side of the case, but presenting no defense testimony.  The motion was denied.  A considerable portion of the evidence in the case was procured by William E. Buck, city, a private detective, who testified also to having served the summons and complaint on the defendant and also on her parents, her father having been named guardian ad litem for her.  Plaintiff and defendant were married in this city by Judge Joseph A. McConnell, April 30, 1929, without the consent of the defendant's parents.  They separated about March, 1930.  The child was born Feb. 28 of this year, and had never been seen by the plaintiff until Monday in the court room.  Mrs. Leona York, 30, of 271 Franklin street, testified to having known Mrs. Murray for about two years, the bulk of which time she was a next door neighbor.  Mrs. Murray having resided in the apartment at 273 Franklin street.  The witness said she had seen men go to the Murray apartment several times and remain an hour or two, but notwithstanding the fact that she made an affidavit that she had gone to the door on one occasion and found it locked, she refused to testify to that effect calling forth some sharp questions from Attorney Teepell.  Guy Courtney was mentioned as having been at one of the little home parties on one occasion.  Witness said that she and Mrs. Murray and two men went to Carthage for a ride one day, but declared that she saw nothing improper in conduct or any display of affection.  That trip was taken in January, 1930.  Men had taken Mrs. Murray in daytime and nighttime.  Sometimes Mrs. Murray did not return home until 11:30 or 12 at night.  Whether her company departed before Murray returned home, witness could not say.  Mrs. Phoebe Walts, 271 Franklin street, owner of the house, testified to having leased the apartment to the Murrays in July, 1929, and that they remained until March, 1930.  She said Mrs. Murray had a lot of company, but thought the men who went there looked like collectors.  Mrs. Murray received a man there at night, but usually there was another couple, she said.  She did not know the man or whether it was the same one.  Murray worked nights a great deal and whether he ever returned home before the company left, she did not know.  She said that there were things in her affidavit that she never said, but that Detective Buck came to her home, talked with them, wrote down everything they said, and told them they would not be brought into court.  Had she known she was going to be sworn, she said she would never have said anything.

- Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Saturday, 26 December 1931:  Justice Edward N. Smith signed an order today permitting Theodore Peets of Lake Clear to expend $100 of the $200 alimony and counsel fees paid to him some months ago by Cornelius D. Murray, for the benefit of Mrs. Hazel I. Murray and her child.  Mrs. Murray is the former wife of Murray and is the daughter of Mr. Peets with whom she has resided at Lake Clear for several months.  Application for the right to expend $100 of the money states that it is for clothing, medicines and necessaries for the care of Mrs. Murray and the child.  The application was made through Attorney Francis Barry Cantwell of Saranac Lake.
