Obituary: Lake Charles American Press (LA), 18 February 2002: Funeral services for Thomas J. "Pete" Pitre, 81, will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Joel Daugherty will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Tuesday. Mr. Pitre died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a 1938 graduate of Lake Charles High School. He worked for South Central Bell for 44 years, working as a supervisor for 35 of those years. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. He was an active supporter of Bel's No Kill Animal Shelter. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Martin Pitre of Lake Charles; two stepsons, Dave Dunn and Michael Carter, both of Lake Charles; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Pitre was born September 22, 1932. She was a graduate of Realtor's Institute and has worked as a Realtor since 1976 and was currently working with LA Land. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mrs. Pitre is survived by two sons, Michael W. Carter of Dunnellon, Fla. and Dave M. Dunn of Lake Charles; and two grandsons, Shawn Carter of Dunnellon and David Isaiah Dunn of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Dave Dunn Sr., Dwayne Carter Sr. and Thomas Pitre; and her parents, Archie Martin and Lora (Maddox) Rutherford. Her memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Johnson Funeral Home. Her cremated remains will be buried at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake.

D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clayton-Thompson-Davis Funeral Home in Groves with burial in Graceland Cemetery in Lake Charles. He was a native of Lake Charles and had lived in Port Arthur 17 years. Survivors include his wife, Louise Pitre of Groves; a son, Rickey Joe Pitre of Dallas; his father, Thomas J. Pitre of Lake Charles; and a sister, Glynn Long of Houston.

Glynn Ellen Pitre: Houston Chronicle (Houston, TX), Friday, 11 August 1995: Glynn Pitre Lang, 47, of Houston, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 5, 1995. Glynn was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana where she attended high school and McNeese State University. She worked for the school district in Lake Charles prior to moving to Houston and working for HISD. She was preceded in death by her mother Elenor "Honey" Pitre and her brother Tommy Pitre. She is survived by her husband Craig Lang; her twin sons Tommy and Blake all of Houston, her father T. J. Pitre of Lake Charles and many cousins in Lake Charles. Glynn was a loving mother and wife who devoted the last 16 years of her life caring for her two sons with Cystic Fibrosis. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 1995 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, with Rev. Parker Cross officiating. In place of the usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Houston, Texas.
