Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Wednesday, 18 April 1945:  Simon Peters.  Orono, April 17 - Simon Peters, 63, died April 17 after a brief illness.  He was born in Rustico, P.E.I., son of Joseph and Bernice Arsenault Peters.  For the past 35 years he had lived in Orono.  Besides his wife, Margaret LeBreton Peters, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank Duguay of Orono and Mrs. Leo Cote of Old Town; a brother, Henry of Westbrook; a sister, Mrs. Charles LeBreton of Anson, and 12 grandchildren.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, where funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock.

Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Wednesday, 2 March 1949:  Mrs. Margaret V. Peters - Orono, March 1 - Mrs. Margaret V. Peters, 55, wife of the late Simon Peters, died while at work in the Commons building at the University of Maine early this morning.  Born in New Brunswick, she moved to Orono about 40 years ago.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frank L. Duguay of Orono and Mrs. Bernice Cote of Old Town; a brother, Charles Lebreton of Madison; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Fournier of Old Town and Mrs. Elizabeth Lebreton of Biddeford; and 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Requiem High Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church here Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, with Rev. Maurice Boland officiating.  Entombment will be at Riverside cemetery, awaiting spring burial.  Friends may call at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Duguay, 1 Bridge street.

Wilfred J. Peters:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Tuesday, 17 December 1935:  Funeral Services - Orono, Dec. 16 - Funeral services were held Monday in St. Mary's church for Wilfred J. Peters.  High mass of requiem was celebrated by Rev. Thomas J. O'Dowd.  The bearers were Frank Duguay, Harold Burton, Lee Cota, Carl Cota, John Ryan and Leo Alexander.  Interment was in the family lot in Riverside cemetery.  There were many beautiful floral trubutes.

 

Mary Margueritte 'Rita' Peters:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Thursday, 3 February 1977:  Mrs. Marguerite Duguay - Orono - Mrs. Marguerite Duguay, 65, the wife of Frank L. Duguay of 56 Hill St. here, died Feb. 2 at a Bangor hospital.  She was born Aug. 17, 1911, in Orono, the daughter of Simon and Mary (LeBreton) Peters.  She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. William (Hope) Clement of New Hampton, NH; a sister, Mrs. Bernice Cota of Cardville; four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Old Town.  Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Orono.  Friends may call at the Baillargeon Funeral Home Thursday, 7-9 p.m., and Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

 

Mary 'Bernice' Peters:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Wednesday, 31 October 1984:  Bernice M. Cote - Old Town - Bernice M. 'Bea' Cote, 71, wife of the late Leo H. Cote, died Oct. 30, 1984, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness.  She was born in Orono, Jan. 11, 1913, the daughter of Simon and Margaret (LeBriton) Peters.  She was employed for many years at Penobscot Shoe Co. and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.  She is survived by one daughter, Loretta Parent of Milford; one son, Royal Cote of Old Town; three grandchildren, Kevin, Richard and Melinda; one special niece, Hope Clement of New Hampton, N.H.; several other nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kiley-Birmingham Funeral Home, 259 S. Main St.; Old Town, with the Rev. Norman MacPherson officiating.  Interment will be in Cardville Cemetery, Cardville.  Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
