Obituary:  Lake Charles American Press (LA), Wednesday, 26 October 1960:  Robert William Pitre, a native of Kinder, died in Pasadena, Tex., late Tuesday afternoon.  He was 49.  The body will be brought to Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, where date and time of services are to be announced.  Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.  Mr. Pitre, a barber, had lived in Pasadena for six years.  Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Cora Mae Pitre of Pasadena; two sons, R.W. Pitre Jr. of the U.S. Army in Germany and Donald Pitre of Pasadena; one daughter, Miss Romain Pitre of Pasadena; three sisters, Mrs. David Fruge of Eunice, Mrs. Gladue Dartez of Moss Bluff and Mrs. Dave Janice of Lake Charles; one brother, John M. Pitre of Ville Platte and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Marion Marcantel of Iowa.
