Obituary: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Friday, 13 August 1993: Lawtell - Funeral services for Mr. Robert Pitre, 74, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in St. Bridget Catholic Church here with burial in Pitre Cemetery in Prairie Ronde. Mr. Pitre, a resident of Lawtell, died recently at his residence. Survivors include: two sons, L.J. Pitre of Ville Platte and Robert E. Pitre Jr. of Port Barre; eight daughters, Mrs. Perlie Wedlock of Lawtell, Mrs. Terry Perron of Mamou, Mrs. Margaret Pitre Lavergne of Opelousas, Mrs. Margie Pitre Fusilier of Mamou, Mrs. Manuella Bernard of Galveston, Texas, Mrs. Annette Quibodeaux of Church Point, Mrs. Gladys Arnaud and Mrs. Jeanette Huff, both of Lewisburg; a brother, Cliff Pitre of Lawtell; a sister, Mrs. Vergie Bourgeois of Duson; 30 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours are from 3 p.m. Saturday until time of services on Sunday. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on North Main in Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Boone, a resident of Lawtell, died Tuesday, June 18, following a short illness. Survivors include: two sons, L. J. Pitre of Ville Platte and Robert Edward 'Bobby' Pitre Jr. of Port Barre; eight daughters, Mrs. Terry (Shirley) Perron of Mamou, Mrs. Floyd (Margaret) Parsons of Tyler, Texas, Mrs. Donald W. (Margie) Fuselier of Mamou, Ms. Manuella Barnard of Galveston, Texas, Mrs. Ricky (Annette) Quibodeaux of Bosco, Mrs. Gladys Arnaud and Ms. Jeanette Pitre, both of Lewisburg, and Ms. Pearly Welock of Lawtell; 28 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Margaret Pitre Parsons, 60, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday,
April 10, 2008, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Interment
will follow in the St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville. Msgr. Louis
Melancon will conduct the services. Mrs. Parsons was born in Eunice, and
was a resident of Opelousas. Mrs. Parsons passed away on Tuesday, April 8,
2008 at her residence. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Floyd Parsons,
of Opelousas; one daughter, Michele Lavergne of Carencro; two brothers,
L. J. Pitre of Ville Platte and Bobby Pitre of Port Barre; seven
sisters, Shirley Perron of Lafayette, Pearlie Myers of Lewisburg,
Marjorie Fusilier of Mamou, Manuella Barnard of Mamou, Annette
Quibodeaux of Church Point, Gladys Lavergne of Grand Prairie, and
Jeanette Colligan of Church Point; grandson, James Branham and
granddaughter, Colleen Branham, both of Carencro. Ms. Parsons was
preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Antoinette Boone Pitre and
one son, Mark Lavergne. Visiting hours will be observed on
Wednesday, April 9, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home
of Opelousas. On Thursday visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the
time of services. Pallbearers will include Shawnee Leger, L. J. Pitre,
Bobby Pitre, Ricky Quibodeaux, Louis Myers and Anthony Branham. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.
