Obituary: Chateaugay Record (NY), Friday, 19 June 1942: Funeral services for Raymond C. Peets, of Dannemora, former acting mayor of that village, who died on Wednesday evening at the Champlain Valley hospital, were held on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Joseph's church at Dannemora. Rev. A.P. Landry was celebrant of the solemn requiem high mass assisted by Rev. Ambrose R. Hyland as deacon; and Rev. Earl Taylor as sub-deacon. Rev. W. H. Brennan of Willsboro, was master of ceremonies. Guards from Clinton prison attended the services as a unit. Pall bearers were: Dr. Leo A. Thume, John Quinn, Jerry Keefe, Louis Hamilton, Daniel Caranuse and Wilfred Bourey. Burial was in the church cemetery. Those from this vicinity who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Harrica of Chateaugay, Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Phillips, Miss Isabel Phillips and Anthony Douglas of Frontier. Mr. Peets is survived by his wife the former Miss Catherine Douglas, of Dannemora, two sons, Ronald and Raymond, his mother, Mrs. Jane Peets of Belchertown, Mass., two grandmothers, Mrs. Frank Peets of Plattsburgh and Mrs. Mary J. Ducharme of Merrill, three aunts, Mrs. Nellie Crowder of Plattsburgh, Mrs. William O'Brien of Dannemora and Mrs. H. P. Harrica of this village.

Obituary: Plattsburgh Press Republican (NY), Monday, 5 January 1987: East Lansing, Mich.: Kathryn Peets, 84, formerly of Dannemora, died Sunday, Dec.14, 1986 in Lansing, Mich. She was born in Dannemora, N.Y. Dec. 17, 1901. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in East Lansing, Mich. Survivors include two sons, Raymond Peets of Syracuse, N.Y. and Dr. Ronald Peets of Okemos, Mich.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A private memorial mass was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1986. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Dannemora. Donations may be made to the WKAR Talking Book Program in East Lansing, Mich.

Born in Dannemora, he served with the Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He received a master's degree in criminal justice from the University of Notre Dame. He formerly worked for the state Department of Corrections. He was a vice president at Advest Inc. and managed its Syracuse office for 38 years. He was later a director at Cadre Corp., Long Island. He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church and a member, past vice president and director of Bellevue Country Club. Survivors: His wife, the former Ann Dollinger; a daughter, Kathryn M. Panara of Canandaigua; a brother, Dr. Ronald C. of Sun City Center, Fla.; three grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Ann's Church, Onondaga. Burial, Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Onondaga Hill. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. today Whelan Bros. Funeral Home, Fairmount.
