Obituary Pitre: Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Sunday, 1 August 2004: Raymond M. Pete, a retired carpenter, died Thursday at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 81. Mr. Pete was born in New Orleans and lived in Kenner for the past 36 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include three sons, Robert Raymond Pete of Bossier City, Richard Paul and Jim Perry Pete; two daughters, Sandra P. Gillespie of Covington and Sheila Gager of Baton Rouge; five brothers, Roy A. Pete of Hickory, Miss., Harold J. Pete of Kentwood; Alfred F. Pete of Venice, and Edward J. and William J. Pete, both of Metairie; a sister, Cherie M. Norman of Baton Rouge; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m.

Obituary: Joyce Ellender Lepoma passed away on Thursday, March 05, 2015 in Covington, LA. She was born on Friday, July 17, 1931 in New Orleans, LA to the late John Ralph Ellender and Marjorie Exnicious Ellender. Joyce was married to her beloved husband, the late Sam Lapoma, for 30 years. She was the loving mother of, Robert Pete (Fran), Sandra P. Gillespie (George), Richard Pete, Sheila P. Gager, Jim Pete, the late Ronald Pete, Gerald Pete, and Michael Pete. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Joyce was the sister of Davis Ellender, the late Roy Ellender, Lloyd Ellender, Ruby Portener, Ronald Ellender, Stephen Ellender, and Burt Ellender. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond M. Pete. A memorial service is being planned and will be published here as soon as details are available. If desired, donations in the name of Joyce Ellender Lepoma may be made to the American Heart Association, Dallas, TX.
