Obituary: The Ville Platte Gazette (Ville Platte, LA), Thursday, 8 January 2015 - (photo) Rayford 'Ray' Pitre Sr., August 23, 1925 - January 5, 2015 - Grand Prairie - Funeral services were held for Rayford 'Ray' Pitre Sr., 89, of Grand Prairie, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Grand Prairie at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 7. Burial followed in the church cemetery. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and friend, Mr. Pitre died Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Senior Village Nursing Facility in Opelousas. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. Survivors include his beloved wife of 72 years Anna Lee LaFleur Pitre of Grand Prairie; two sons, Rayford 'Ray' Pitre, Jr. and his wife, Jeanne, of Ville Platte and Wayne Pitre and his wife, Pamela, of Marshall, Texas; three daughters, Sandy Rougeau and her husband, Jim, of Lafayette, Ginny Fuselier and her husband, Chris, of Ville Platte and Angie Stelly and her husband, Troy, of Washington. Precious memories will be fondly recounted by his 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Louis and Elaine Pitre; one son, Glenn Pitre; and two grandchildren, Laurie Pitre and Scotty Fuselier. Father Mark Melancon officiated. Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte was in charge of arrangements.

Services were held at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter’s Catholic
Church in Grand Prairie on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, for Ginger Gale
Fuselier, 67, who passed away peacefully on February 23, 2020 in Ville
Platte surrounded by her loving family. Father Picard was celebrant of the
Mass and conducted the funeral services. Burial took place at St. Peter’s
Cemetery in Grand Prairie under the direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville
Platte. The family requested that visitation be observed at Ardoin's
Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Monday, February 24, 2020, from 5 p.m. until 9
p.m. A Rosary was recited by Father Picard on Monday at 6 p.m.
Visitation resumed on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 8 a.m. until time of
service. Ginger Gale Fuselier was born in Grand Prairie on February 15,
1953, to Rayford Pitre, Sr. and Anna Lee Lafleur Pitre. She was the
owner of Ginny’s Cakes and Supplies for many years and was known for her
beautiful and delicious cakes. She was a loving wife, mother, and
grandmother. She will be missed dearly by her family and all who knew and
loved her. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Chris Fuselier;
mother, Anna Lee Pitre; daughter, Kimberly Fuselier Ardoin and husband
Dwayne; two grandchildren, Brittney Ardoin and fiance’ Justin Reed
and Nicholas Ardoin and wife Hope, all of Ville Platte; 3
great-grandchildren, Kelsie Ardoin, Lincoln Ardoin, Karson Reed, and
another on the way; sisters, Sandra Rougeau and husband James of
Lafayette and Angie Stelly and husband Troy of Grand Prairie; brothers,
Ray Pitre, Jr. and wife Jeanne and Wayne Pitre and wife Pam; and
numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father,
Ray Pitre, Sr.; son, Joseph Scott Fuselier; and brother, Glenn
Pitre.
