Obituary:  A requiem mass will be offered Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, River Rouge, for Raymond J. Peters, 88 Maple, River Rouge, who died in Harper Hospital Saturday.  Mr. Peters, a longtime downriver politician, was 88.  A native Detroiter, he was elected city clerk of River Rouge in 1919 and served in that post 30 years.  After his retirement, he was appointed controller of Trenton.  Later he became field representative for the Michigan Municipal League.  Mr. Peters is survived by his wife, Caroline, a son, Milton of Lincoln Park; three daughters, Mrs. Madonna Toger, of Warren; Mrs. Olive Spiegel, of Rockwood; and Mrs. Phyllis Riley, of Edina, Minn.; 31 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  A rosary will be offered tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in the Edward Girrbach Sons Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, Flat Rock.

Phyllis Rhea Peters:  Star Tribune (Minneapolis, MN), Sunday, 10 August 2003:  Riley, Phyllis R., age 79, of Apple Valley, formerly of Edina, entered Eternal Life on August 9th.  Phyllis lives on forever in the hearts of Robert, her devoted husband of 58 years; sister, Olive Spiegel; children, Carol (Jan), Dale (Janet), Janet (Terry), Mary Ellen (Al), Robert (Jane), Nancy (Larry); grandchildren, Tony (Janel), Matt, Amy, Dan (Kyle), Patrick, Allison (John), Erik, Jenny, Ray, Bobby, Abby, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Michael and Emily.  Preceded in death by her beloved son, Duane, waiting along with her parents and siblings to welcome her home.  "You have always been an angel and we have been truly blessed being touched by you."  Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, 11 am, at the Church of the Risen Savior, 1501 E.
