Obituary: Union News (Springfield, MA), Tuesday, 16 March 1993: Chicopee - Roland J. Pete, 78, of Chicopee, a retired maintenance worker at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, died Sunday at his home. He retire in 1960. Born in Morris, N.Y., he formerly lived in Holyoke. He moved to Chicopee seven years ago. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific theater. He was the husband of the late Geneva M. (Krol) Pete, who died in 1990. He leaves a daughter, Nancy M. Solley of Chicopee; three sisters, Lee Tetreault of Holyoke, Annette Bujnicki of Southampton and Doris Sokolowski of Westfield, and four grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be Wednesday for he and his wife in St. Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee's Aldenville section. Burial will be in private. There are no calling hours. Starzyk Funeral Home, Chicopee, is in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Holyoke.
