Obituary: Foster's Daily Democrat (Dover, NH), Wednesday, 27 February 2008: Doris M. LaPete, 79, of Elmview Circle, died Feb. 23, 2008, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. A lifelong resident of Dover, she was born here April 3, 1928, the daughter of Samuel and Anna (Dailey) Cole. She was the widow of Raymond J. LaPete, who died Dec. 9, 2000. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Dover. A devoted family person, Doris is survived by her sons, Philip, and his wife, Susan, of Dover, Paul, of Somersworth; her daughter, Dorene Hillsgrove and her husband, David, of Barrington; a brother, Harold Cole, and his wife, Eileen, of Dover; six grandchildren, Scott, Michele, Darlene, Kelly, Kristy and Derek, also nine great-grandchildren, Megan, Kaitlyn, Billy, Brian, Mackenzie, Shawn, Steven, Taylor and Jocelyn. Family and friends may call Thurs from 7-9pm at the Tasker Funeral Home, Dover. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Dover. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Dover. Contributions in Doris' memory may be made to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society, Dover, NH.

Philip R. Lapete: Tasker Funeral Home (Dover, NH), 16 June 2023: Dover - Philip R. LaPete, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital. Born on July 17, 1949 in Dover, Philip was the son of the late Raymond and Doris (Cole) LaPete. A true Dover native, Philip attended both St. Mary Catholic School and Dover High where he graduated in 1968. Upon his departure from the Green Wave, Phil went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. His time in the service held utmost importance to him and led him to join Essex VFW and the Rollinsford Post 47 American Legion. Throughout his life, Phil was known for his kind and generous spirit. He was a wonderful neighbor, a dependable coworker, a loving father, and of course, an avid Red Sox fan. Along with his parents, Philip is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary E. (Walter) LaPete and second wife, Suzanne LaPete. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Scott LaPete and wife, Angela, of Palm Coast, FL, and Darlene Washok and husband, Bill, of Rochester; siblings, Paul LaPete and wife, Diane, of Palm Bay, FL and Doreen Hillsgrove and husband, David, of Barrington; grandchildren, William Washok, Brian Washok, Rebeka Washok, Kaitlyn LaPete, Taylor LaPete, Stephen LaPete, and Lawton LaPete; and great-grandchildren, Baxten LaPete, Evelynn Talley, Kynsleigh, Emma Washok, Joseph Washok, and Kalin Baker. A visitation for Phil will be on Tuesday, June 20 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Tasker Funeral Home, Dover, NH. A mass of Christian Burial will follow on Wednesday, June 21 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Church, Dover, NH with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
