Obituary: Union Leader (Manchester, NH), Wednesday, 7 February 1968: Bethlehem - Levi J. LaPete, 84, died at a Jefferson nursing home Monday evening after a long illness. A native of Westmore, Vt., he had lived in this area most of his life. He was a member of Christ the King parish. The family includes his wife, Mrs. Alvina (Deturo) LaPete of Whitefield; three sons, Raymond LaPete of Dover, Ernest LaPete of Manchester and Maurice LaPete of Whitefield; four daughters, Mrs. Richard Ingerson, Mrs. Kendall Huntoon and Mrs. William Stone, all of Bethlehem, and Mrs. Lester Houlett of Springfield, Ill.; 33 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Friday morning from the Pillsbury Funeral Home, Littleton, followed by a high mass of requiem at Christ the King Church. Burial will be in Maple Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today and Thursday afternoons and evenings.

Jan. 10, 1910, in Barton, Vt., she was a daughter of Levi and Alvena (Deparo)
LaPete. She attended schools and was raised in the Barton/Greensboro,
Vt., area. She married William A. Stone in the mid-1920s, and they
moved to Bethlehem in 1935. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother.
She enjoyed handicraft work, gardening, camping and most outdoor activities.
She was a communicant of Christ the King Church, Bethlehem, for many years.
The family includes three sons, Donald Stone, Wayne Stone and Richard Stone,
all of Bethlehem; five daughters, Irene Ellis of New Ipswich,
Priscilla Locke of Easton, Shirley Whitcomb of Dalton, Diane
Whitcomb of Bethlehem and Elizabeth Hubbard of Littleton; many
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her
husband and two sons predeceased her. Services: Calling hours are Sunday
from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Pillsbury Funeral Home, 101 Union St., Littleton. A
Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima
Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel J. Sinibaldi officiating. Spring
burial will be in the Maple Street Cemetery.

Ernest Joseph Lapete: Burlington Free Press, Saturday, 23 December 1995: Mr. Ernest J. LaPete, 80, of 19 Henry Court in Burlington and formerly of Allentown, N.H., died Friday, Dec. 22, 1995, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in White River Junction after a lengthy illness. The son of Levi and Alvina (Despers) LaPete, Mr. LaPete was born in Barton, Vt. He had lived in Bethlehem and Manchester and had spent 18 years in Allentown before moving to Burlington in 1990. Prior to his retirement he had been a heavy machinery operator for Audley Construction and Manchester Sand and Gravel. After retirement he had worked at Memorial Field in Pembroke on a maintenance crew. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. LaPete served in Normandy and Central Europe and received several honors for distinguished duty including the Purple Heart. He was a member of John J. Maguire American Legion Post 28 in Suncook. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Stella (Worster) LaPete of Burlington; four daughters, Betty (Mrs. David) Gagne of Allentown, Linda (Mrs. Richard) Chasse of Burlington, Donna (Mrs. Robert) Davis of Hooksett, and Bonnie (Mrs. Al) Foster of Manchester; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond LaPete of Dover; four sisters, Marjorie Stone, Irene LaPete, Gloria (Mrs. Richard) Ingerson, and Blanche (Mrs. Kendall) Huntoon, all of Bethlehem; and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Petit Funeral Home, Pembroke. Funeral services will be held in St. John the Baptist Church in Allentown on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Rev. C. Peter Dumont, pastor, will officiate. Spring burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Allentown.

Blanche Marjory Lapete: Blanche M. Huntoon, 81, formerly of Bethlehem, died on Feb. 20, 2004 at Glencliff Home for the Elderly. She was born on July 20, 1922 in Barton, Vt., the daughter of Levi and Alvinia (Duparo) LaPete. Mrs. Huntoon attended Barton schools. She lived most of her life in Bethlehem. She worked many years for Connors & Hoffman Shoe Co. in Littleton. She enjoyed gardening and knitting. The family includes four sons, Robert J. Huntoon and Roger J. Huntoon, both of Lincoln, Kendall B. Huntoon Jr. of Munroe, and Barry A. Huntoon of Whitefield; a daughter, Joyce A. Huntoon of Meredith; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Stone of Bethlehem; a brother, Raymond LaPete of Dover; nieces and nephews. Her husband, Kendall Huntoon Sr., died previously. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Feb. 26 from 9:30-10 a.m. in the chapel of the Glencliff Home for the Elderly, High Street, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Maple Street Cemetery in Bethlehem in the spring. The Edmund Fournier Funeral Home in North Woodstock is in charge of arrangements.
