Obituary:  Massena Daily Courier Observer (NY), Tuesday, 11 March 2003:  Massena - A Funeral Mass for Raymond F. LaShomb, 77, of 2 Plum St. Massena, will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Massena with the Rev. Jack Downs, pastor officiating.  Burial with full military honors will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Massena.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are with the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.  Mr. LaShomb died Sunday morning (March 9, 2003) at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice.  He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; a daughter, Mrs. Steve (Trudy) O'Neil of Massena; seven sons, Rene of Massena, Duane and wife Shirley of Yorktown, Ind., Rickie and wife Vickie of Elkton, Fla., Bruce and wife Maureen, Philip and wife Cynthia, Jeffrey and wife Leisa, all of Massena and William and wife Christina of Louisville; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers and four sisters, Harold of Norfolk, Leo of Massena, Carl of Wheatfield, Mrs. Donald (Thelma) Derouchia of Massena, Mrs. Ernest (Kay) Schneller of Louisville, Marie Krusher of Palm Coast, Fla., and Mary Jane LaShomb of Massena.  He was predeceased by three brothers, Donald, Lawrence and Robert, and a sister, Virginia Burain.  Mr. LaShomb was born on Aug. 25, 1925 in Massena, the son of Guy and Ethel (LaComb) LaShomb.  He graduated from Massena High School and attended Naval Radio School.  He married Gertrude White on Aug. 25, 1948 at the Church of the Sacred Heart with the Rev. Gerald Kellogg presiding.  He was in the U. S. Navy from Sept. 25, 1943 until his discharge on April 14, 1946.  He was awarded the Purple Heart and was cited a Presidential Letter of Commendation.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Nov. 15, 1951 and was discharged on Feb. 18, 1953 as a sergeant.  Mr. LaShomb was employed as a senior clerk at GM Powertrain.  He was a member of the Amvets Post No.4, American Legion Post No. 79 and VFW Post No. 1143.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.

LaShomb, 77, of Plum Street, Massena, will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Massena.  There will be no public calling hours.  Arrangements are with the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.  Mrs. LaShomb died Tuesday (Nov. 27, 2007) at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena.  She is survived by a daughter, seven sons and five daughters-in-law, Trudy and husband Steve O'Neil of Massena; Duane and wife Shirley LaShomb of Greeneville, Tenn., Rickie and wife Vickie LaShomb of Elkton, Fla., Bruce and wife Maureen LaShomb of Massena, Philip and wife Cynthia LaShomb of Massena, William and wife Christina LaShomb of Louisville, Rene and Jeffrey, both of Massena; 19 grandchildren; and seven-great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Donald White.  She was born on Jan. 7, 1930 in Ogdensburg, the daughter of David and Dorothy (Trimble) White.  She graduated from Ogdensburg Academy School.  She married Raymond F. LaShomb on Aug. 25,1948 at the Church of Sacred Heart with the Rev. Gerald Kellogg presiding.  Mr. LaShomb pre-deceased her on March 9, 2003.  She was a homemaker.  She enjoyed being with her family, ice skating, swimming and camping.  She was an avid book reader and loved dancing with her husband.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland Nursing Home Activities Fund.

Jeffrey A. Lashomb:  North Country Now (Potsdam, NY), Tuesday, 24 January 2023:  Massena - Jeffrey A. Lashomb, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at his home.  There will be no public calling hours, a Celebration of Life will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.  Jeff was born on November 5, 1961 in Massena, New York, the son of the late Raymond F. and Gertrude A. (White) LaShomb.  He worked alongside his brother Bruce as an auto-body repairman.  He is survived by a son Austin Ward and a daughter Carly Sharlow.  He is survived by his siblings, Rene of Massena; Duane and Shirley of Dandridge, TN; Rickie "Rick" and Vickie of Elkton, FL; Trudy and Steve O'Neil of Massena; Bruce LaShomb of Massena; Philip and Cynthia of Killeen TX; and William "Bill" and Christina of Massena, NY.  Also surviving him are many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to Jeff's parents, he was predeceased by a sister in-law Maureen LaShomb in 2022.  Jeff was an avid music lover.  He attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale to study music and video production and enjoyed writing original music and original music videos.  He also had his own musical publishing company in Nashville, TN.  He played and customized his own guitars.  Jeff enjoyed being with family, working on old Volkswagens and going camping.  Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Phillips Memorial Home located at 64 Andrews Street in Massena.
