Obituary:  Evening Express (Portland, ME), Friday, 2 April 1976:  Topsham - Ralph D. Peters, 78, of West Scarborough, formerly of Middlesex Road here, died Thursday at a Portland hospital after a short illness.  He was born here, March 27, 1898, a son of Edward and Lucy Tarbox Peters, and attended local schools.  During a long working career which ended in retirement at the age of 73 he was employed in numerous industries.  Included were construction, feldspar mining, tree harvesting and shipbuilding.  For many years he was also a Merrymeeting Bay guide.  Surviving are a son, Ralph E. of West Scarborough, with whom he lived for the last five years; two brothers, Clarence of Dover, N.H., and John of Gardiner; a sister, Mrs. Roy (Marion) MacGee of Topsham; and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Stetson Funeral Home, Brunswick.  Spring interment will be in Rogers Cemetery here.
