Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Tuesday, 15 February 2005:  Roland Augustin Pitre, age 80, died on Sunday, February 13, 2005 at 3:00 am of respiratory failure.  He was a resident of Houma, LA and a native of Addis, LA.  Survivors: ex-wife, Emily Gros Pitre of Metairie, one daughter: Sherry Pitre Counce of New Orleans, and four sons: Danny Pitre of Houma; Michael Pitre of Metairie, Roland Pitre, Jr. of Washington and Rodney Pitre of Metairie; twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.  Also survived by two sisters: Alice Faye and Harry Martinez of Plaquemine; Audrey Mae and Gordon Gisler of Washington and numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by parents: Ferdinand Marshall and Julia Ruiz Pitre; brother: Ferdinand Pitre, Jr., son: Wade Pitre; sisters: Margie P. Comeaux Haynes and Edith Mae Cutrer; granddaughter: Rhonda Pitre.  Mr. Pitre was a truck driver for Teamster Local 207 - New Orleans and was a veteran of WWII US Marine Corp.  He also was a member Veterans of Foreign Wars.  Visiting at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly from 9:30AM until 12:30AM Wednesday, February 16, 2005, with Religious Services at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly at 12:30PM Wednesday, February 16, 2005, conducted by Rev. Matt Dupre.  Interment Church Cemetery.  Pallbears: Danny Pitre, Michael Pitre, Robert Counce, Harry Martinez, J. E. Comeaux and Kenneth Bunch.  Wilbert Funeral Home of Plaquemine in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  The Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Tuesday, 15 March 2011:  Emily Gros Pitre, age 82, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, surrounded by family and friends.  Born July 31, 1928, she was a native of Four Mile Bayou, Louisiana and a long time resident of Metairie.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Orestile C. Gros and Noemie Thibodeaux Gros, her son, Wade A. Pitre, her granddaughter, Rhonda A. Pitre, five brothers, Ridley, Oudrey, Duroc, Henry and Arestile Gros and two sisters, Agnes Wiggins and Hilda Gros.  She is survived by four sons: Rodney J., Roland A., Daniel J. and Michael A. Pitre, and one daughter, Sheryl Pitre Counce (Robert).  She was MawMaw to grandchildren: Yvonne Benson, William Borchers, Duane, Danielle, Ashton, Ray, Wade and Katy Pitre, Ashley and Alix Derousseau and Brittany Petrie and three great-grandchildren, Ronnie Pitre, Jude Colson and Cheryl Benson.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, Ursuline Academy, New Orleans, on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until service time.  Interment will follow at St. Vincent de Paul, New Orleans, LA.

Gros and Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Pitre Sr., aged 2 years and 10 months.  A native of Donaldsonville, La., and a resident of New Orleans for the past two and one-half years.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral Sunday, August 7, 1949, at 2 o'clock p.m., from the mortuary of Jacob Schoen and Son.
