Obituary: St. Louis Post-Dispatch (MO), Friday, 1 September 2000: Russell A. Peters, 88, of O'Fallon, died Wednesday (Aug. 30, 2000) at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield. Mr. Peters was a retired manager from Ford Motor Co. in Wixom, Mich., where he had worked for 20 years. He served in World War II with the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 5077 in O'Fallon. No visitation was planned. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Assumption Catholic Church, 115 West Third Street, O'Fallon. The body will be cremated. Among survivors are a daughter, Nancy Playford of O'Fallon, and three grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
