Obituary:  Santa Barbara News Press (Santa Barbara, CA), Wednesday, 10 September 1969:  Ballard - Graveside funeral services were held this morning at Oak Hill Cemetery for Harry Petrie, 75, who died Friday at his home at Sun Valley Court in Buellton.  The Rev. Ronald D. Holcomb, pastor of the Santa Ynez Valley Presbyterian Church in Ballard, officiated.  Mr. Petrie, a veteran of World War I, was for 20 years a commercial painter in the Santa Ynez Valley.  He was born Jan. 22, 1894 in Bloomsville, Canada.  He is survived by his wife, Nellie, of Buellton; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Applestine of this state.  Handling funeral arrangements is the Santa Ynez Valley Chapel of Ballard.

Obituary:  Santa Ynez Valley News (Solvang, CA), Thursday, 30 April 1970:  Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) for Nellie LaVera Petrie, 71, of Buellton who died April 26 in Santa Maria.  Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald Holcomb.  Services will be at Paaske's Santa Ynez Valley Chapel in Ballard at 1:30 p.m.  Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.  She was the widow of Harry Petrie, who died last September.  Mrs. Petrie was born in Canada May 22, 1898.  She is survived by a sister, Edith Asselstine; two nephews, Bob Asselstine and Clifford Asselstine and a niece, Marjorie Truman.
