Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet: A Mass of Christian burial took place today at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow for Leonor Lathrop Pitre, 87, a native of Leeville and resident of Galliano, who died at 7:30 p.m. Friday (14 February 1992). Interment was in Hebert Cemetery in Galliano. She was the mother of Pierre III and Robert Pitre, Iona Adams, Audrey Guidry and Juanita Remont ; sister of Woodford Jr., Lorris and Morrison Lathrop, Carrie Cheramie, Doris Bouzigard, Aunise Galliano, Dorothy Sacco and Georgianne Gaspard. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pierre Pitre; a son, Linwood Pitre; parents, Loncia Caron and Woodford Lathrop; brothers, Bradford and Davidson Lathrop; a sister, Mora Anselmi; and one grandchild. Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano was in charge of arrangements.

Pierre J. Guy Pitre: Houma Courier, 17 December 2005: Pierre "Guy" J. Pitre III, 76, a native and resident of Galliano, died at 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. Mass will be at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Olive Jane "Nookie" Sonnier Pitre; four daughters, Edea P. Baldwin, Patricia P. Mayet, Nanette P. Ledet and Adele P. Thompson; three sisters, Iona P. Adams, Audrey P. Guidry and Juanite P. Remont; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonore Lathrop and Pierre Pitre Jr.; one infant son; and two brothers, Robert J. Pitre and Linwood Pitre. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Korean War, and was a member of VFW Post 14000, the American Legion Post 259 and the Knights of Columbus Council 9000 of Golden Meadow.

Pitre, 70, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, who died at 6:57 a.m. Sept. 7, 2002. Burial was at Hebert Cemetery in Galliano. He was the husband of Rozena Terrebonne Pitre; father of Clint J. Pitre and Edison J. Pitre; and brother of Pierre Pitre III, Iona Adams, Audrey P. Guidry and Juanita P. Remont. He is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre Pitre Jr. and Leonore Lathrop Pitre; and brother, Linwood Pitre.
