- The Lafourche Comet (Thibodaux, LA), Thursday, 1 October 1896:  Mr. F. Pitre Jr., one of the Lafourche Crossing boys, was married last Wednesday to Miss Louise Bertrand, a charming young lady of Algiers.  A reception was had at the residence of the bride after the ceremony, where a large crowd had assembled to congratulate the couple.  Several beautiful presents were received.  May their married life be a dream of bliss and happiness.  All their Lafourche Crossing friends extend them good wishes and congratulations.  The couple returned on the ten o'clock train Wednesday night to the Crossing, their future home.
