Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 8 April 1959:  Funeral services were held today at 9 a.m. at a mass for Oscar Pitre, 76, retired farmer, who died Tuesday at his home here at 1205 Myrtle st.  He had been ill for two weeks.  Father Clifford Gaudin officiated at services at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.  Burial was in the Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery in Prairie Ronde with Lafond and Son Funeral Home in charge.  Pitre was a native of Prairie Ronde and a resident of Opelousas for 10 years.  He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Dalton Reed, of Opelousas; one sister, Mrs. Onezime Pitre of Ville Platte; and two grandchildren.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 2 February 1965:  Funeral services for Mrs. Dallas Landry, 76, of Opelousas, were held at 9 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde.  Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of the First National Funeral Home.  Mrs. Landry, the former Azelia Pitre, died at 8:35 p.m. Saturday at Opelousas General Hospital.  She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Survivors are two sons, Chapman and Alcide Dupre Sr., both of Prairie Ronde; one step-son, Warren Landry of Mamou; three daughters, Mrs. Dalton Reed of Opelousas, Mrs. Anson Darbonne and Mrs. Camille Leger both of Prairie Ronde; and two step-daughters, Mrs. Wesley Hull of Opelousas and Mrs. George Prudhomme of Eunice.  Also surviving are one brother, Desamar Pitre of Opelousas; one sister, Mrs. Arcade Dupre of Prairie Ronde; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 23 December 1987:  Mamie D. Pitre - Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Pitre, the former Mamie Dupre, 89, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Prairie Ronde.  Mrs. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Doctor's Hospital in Opelousas.  She was a member of the ladies altar society at Our Lady of Mercy Church.  Survivors include three stepdaughters, Mrs. Lolita Lavergne of St. Martinville, Leo Belle Ortego of Lake Charles, and Vivian Lyons of Church Point; a sister, Anna Belle Richard of Baton Rouge; a host of nieces and nephews.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on old Sunset Rd. in Opelousas, which is in charge of all arrangements.

Mary Artee Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 24 April 1974:  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for Mrs. Dalton Reed, 64, who died at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday in a New Orleans hospital following a lengthy illness.  Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Prairie Ronde directed by Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  The former Attia Pitre, she was a seamstress in Opelousas for a number of years, working for Abdalla's Department store and later at her home.  She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.  Mrs. Reed is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ramona Soileau and Mrs. Emily Boudreaux, both of Opelousas; two brothers, Chatman Dupre and Alcide Dupre, both of Prairie Ronde; two sisters, Mrs. Camille Leger and Mrs. Anson Darbonne, both of Prairie Ronde; and two grandchildren.  There will be a rosary at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Ardoin Funeral Home.
