Obituary: The Ville Platte Gazette (Ville Platte, LA), Thursday, 17 June 1999: Port Arthur, Texas - Funeral services were held for Olipsie Pitre, 94, of Nederland, Texas at St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland, Texas on Monday, June 14. Burial followed in the Greenlawn Memorial Park in Port Arthur, Texas. Formerly from Ville Platte, Olipsie Pitre died Friday, June 11, 1999, at Mid-Jefferson Hospital in Nederland, Texas. He had retired from Western Electric Telephone in Houston, Texas in 1962. Survivors include his wife, Alma Walker Pitre; three sons, Charles Pitre of Las Vegas, Nevada, Alton Pitre and Paul Pitre, both of Liberty, Texas; one stepson, David Walker of Galveston, Texas; and one brother, Harry Pitre of Ville Platte.

Obituary: The Lufkin Daily News (TX), Saturday, 5 January 2008: Funeral Services for Lillian Elizabeth Manry, 91, of Huntington, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan with Pastor Carlos Martinez officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008. Mrs. Manry was born Jan. 18, 1916, in Corrigan and died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008 in Houston. She was a secretary for Evan Butane for many years and a member of the Thomas Crossing United Pentecostal Church. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Alton Pitre; Charles Pitre and Kenneth Carter; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Obituary: The Marshall News Messenger (Marshall, TX), Friday, 2 September 1994: Jefferson - Services for Mildred Watson Mills, 76, of Liberty will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Haggard Chapel with the Rev. Bob Dunegan officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of G. E. Haggard & Son Funeral Home. Mrs. Mills died Thursday, Sept. 1, 1994, at Methodist Hospital in Houston. She was born March 27, 1918, in Jefferson, the daughter of Hosea D. Watson and Onie Cope Watson. She was a resident of Liberty since 1945. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Liberty and the Trivium Club of Liberty. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School. Mrs. Mills had worked as secretary to the superintendent of schools at Liberty for a number of years and prior to that time, she worked for the City of Houston Health Department. An avid painter, she was a member of the Liberty Art League. Survivors include one son, Barry Mills of Lubbock; one daughter, Carolyn Kay Green of Houston; one brother, Bill Watson of Shreveport; two sisters, Reba Spidle of Crockett and Dorothy Sustaire of Longview; grandchildren, Tamara and Todd Mills of Lubbock, Tom Green Jr. of Lufkin, Rhonda Wendel of Danbury and Eric Green of Houston; and great-grandchildren, Johnathon and Ryan Wendle of Danbury. Pallbearers will be Todd Mills, Eric Green, Tom Green Sr., Tom Green Jr., Ronald Cook and Herbert Kennon.

Graveside services for Paul Pitre, 64, of Zavalla, will be held Saturday,
July 16, 2005 at 4 p.m. in the Damascus Cemetery in Polk County. Mr. Pitre
was born September 20, 1940 in Houston, Texas, to Olipsie and Lillian
(Loving) Pitre, and succumbed Wednesday, July 13, 2005 in a Houston
hospital, after a battle with cancer. A former resident of Dayton, Mr.
Pitre had resided in Zavalla for the past 15 years. He served in the U.S.
Army, and was a self-employed welder. Survivors include his wife,
Rebecca Pitre of Zavalla; mother, Lillian Manry of Huntington;
daughter, Paulette Yankie of Corrigan; sons, Daniel Pitre of
Corrigan and Sam Pitre of Houston; grandchildren, Danielle Pitre and
Jacob Pitre; step-daughters, Teressa Blair, Frances Tucker and Jenny
Hogue; and brothers, Charles Pitre and Noel Carter, both of Las
Vegas, Nev. and Alton Pitre of Liberty. He was preceded in death by
his father, Olipsie Pitre. The family will receive friends from 6
to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin. Carroway-Claybar
Funeral Home, Lufkin, directors.
