Obituary:  Ogdensburg Advance (NY), Thursday, 6 July 1905:  Helene, July 4:  Allen Lashombe, aged 42, who has been at Adams for some time being treated by a famous doctor there for consumption, died Saturday at that place.  His remains arrived here yesterday; burial today at Brasher Falls.  He is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Lashombe of the Ridge, and was highly esteemed.  A wife and two children survive.

Obituary:  Norwood News (NY), Wednesday, 8 January 1941:  Ogdensburg, Jan. 4:  Mrs. John Larue, 68, 1848 Jay street, died at the Hepburn hospital at 7 this morning.  She was admitted to the hospital five days ago.  She was born in Brasher Falls Jan. 9, 1872, the daughter of Marshall and Rose Robillard Prashaw.  She had lived here for about 40 years.  Her husband survives.  Also two daughters, Mrs. Albert Christian, Norwood; Mrs. Lwellyn McGrath; Ogdensburg; one son, Julian Larue of Norwood and four sisters, Mrs. Orlvet Carney, and Mrs. David Sharlow, both of Massena, Mrs. Eugene Lawson, Norfolk and Mrs. Verna Claflin of Norwood, and one brother, Frank Prashaw of Massena.  Funeral services will be held at the home of Mrs. McGrath, this city, Monday morning.

Leon Lashomb:  The Massena Observer (Massena, NY), Thursday, 11 January 1912:  Brasher Center - On Friday morning at 4 o'clock occurred the death of Leon LaShomb, aged 15 years and 11 months, son of Mrs. John LaRue who resides a short distance from this place.  Leon was a bright, conscientious boy, always kind and cheerful and beloved by all his friends.  He will be greatly missed especially by his mother, and two sisters, Etta and Frances.  Funeral services were held in the R.C. church at Brasher Falls, Sunday, Father Sullivan speaking words of consolation to the sorrowing ones.

- Ogdensburg Advance (NY), Thursday, 11 January 1912:  Brasher Falls: The funeral of Leon Lashombe was held in the Catholic church on Sunday.  He was a son of Allen Lashomb, who died several years ago.  He leaves, besides his mother, two sisters.   He was 17 years of age and a good boy.

Harriett Margaret 'Etta' Lashomb:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 5 December 1968: Mrs. Etta M. Christian, 69, of 123 Russell Rd., Massena, died at 9:50 Tuesday evening, Dec. 3, 1968, in the Massena Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for one week.  She had been in failing health for some time.  The body will remain at the Phillips Memorial Home.  Surviving Mrs. Christian, are two sons, Robert E. Christian of Massena; Donald L. Chrisian, Massena; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Joan) Jandrew, Massena; one sister, Mrs. Llewylyn (Frances) McGrath, Ogdensburg; one brother, Julius LaRue; 11 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  She was born in Brasher Falls, Jan. 29, 1899, a daughter of Allen and Margaret Prashaw LaShomb.  She attended schools in Brasher Falls and was married to Albert E. Christian on Feb. 3, 1919, in St. Andrew's church in Norwood by the Rev. James Roach.  Mr. Christian died May 20, 1967.  She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Massena.  Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Joseph's Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, in Norwood.  The Phillips Memorial Home is in charge.

Frances Lashomb:  Potsdam Courier & Freeman (NY), Tuesday, 21 February 1984: Ogdensburg:  Funeral services for Frances M. McGrath, 83, of 508 Linden St., Ogdensburg, were held Monday (Feb. 20, 1984) at 9:30 a.m. from the McLellan Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral.  Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ogdensburg.  Mrs. McGrath died Thursday (Feb. 16, 1984) at 4 p.m. at the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital in Ogdensburg, where she had been a patient since November of 1983.  Surviving are four sons, New York State Trooper John J. (Jack) McGrath, Lloyd McGrath and Harold G. McGrath, both of Ogdensburg, and the Rev. Gerald F. McGrath, principal at Archbishop Curley-Notre Dame High School in Miami, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Ruth) Trageser of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Mrs. William (Hilda) Hollis and Mrs. Hector (Norma) Demers, both of Ogdensburg; a half brother, Julius LaRue of Norwood; 20 grandchildren;17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. McGrath was predeceased by a brother, Leon LaShomb of Brasher, and a sister, Etta Christian.  Mrs. McGrath was born in Brasher on Jan. 13, 1901, daughter of Allen and Margaret Prashaw LaShomb.  She attended schools in Brasher.  She was married to Lewellyn N. McGrath of Plum Brook, N.Y. on Feb. 3, 1919 in St. Andrew's Church of Norwood.  He was a carpenter for many years and died in June of 1972.  Mr. and Mrs. McGrath spent their married lives in Ogdensburg, where Mrs. McGrath worked at Cleveland Containers for several years.  Mrs. McGrath also worked at the Acco Corporation until retiring in 1968.  She resided with her son, John J. (Jack) on Linden Street at the time of her death.  Mrs. McGrath was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish and a charter member of the Women of the Moose.

John Allen Lashomb:  The Massena Observer (Massena, NY), Thursday, 26 January 1905:  Helena - On Monday, January 15, occurred the death of John Allen, the 10-months old son of A. A. Lashomb after only a few days' illness of brain fever.  He was a beautiful, bright child and the grief stricken parents have the sympathy of many friends.  Many beautiful flowers sent to the home and cemetery blended sweetly with the innocent young life so suddenly blotted out.  Mr. and Mrs. Lashomb wish to thank all who were so kind to them in their bereavement.
 

Other Notes:

1919: Double Wedding Held.  A pretty double wedding occurred Monday morning Feb. 3 at St. Andrews Catholic church when Miss Frances Lashomb became the bride of Lewellyn McGrath and Miss Etta Lashomb became the bride of Frank Christian.  The brides wore broadcloth suits of brown with hats to match.  Mr. McGrath wore the uniform of the U. S. Army, while Mr. Christian wore the conventional black.  The ceremony was performed by Rev. James H. Hoche with a nuptial mass.  Immediately after the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents on North Main St.  Their many friends extend congratulations.
