Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 20 November 2000:  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow for Orleans "O.A." Pitre, 83, a native of Cut Off and resident of Golden Meadow, who died at 8:27 a.m. Nov. 19, 2000.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time at the church.  Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cut Off.  He was the husband of Louella Picciola Pitre; father of Michael, Patrick and Peter Pitre; and brother of Josephine P. Pitre.  He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Constant and Amy Lorraine Pitre; grandchild, Russ Pitre; and sisters, Alice P. Pierce and Marceline L. Guidry.  He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.  He was a veteran of World War II.  He was a member of K.C. Council No. 9000, American Legion Post No. 259, La. and Lafourche Retired Teachers Association and Rotary Club of Golden Meadow, with 37 years perfect attendance.  He was a retired assistant superintendent of schools for Lafourche Parish.  Donations to Lafourche Parish Heart Association are preferred.  Samart Funeral Home and Crematorium of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home (Raceland, LA):  Pitre, Louella, December 14, 1920 - May 9, 2017:  Louella Pitre, 96, a native and resident of Golden Meadow passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.  Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church on Thursday, May 11th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  Louella "Miss Lou" is survived by her three sons, Michael, Patrick (Deanie) and Peter (Donna); grandchildren, Matt Pitre (JoAnn), Cassie P. Ougel (Jay), Jacob Pitre (Mia) and Pierce Pitre (Keri); step-grandchildren, Juan Martinez (Christal) and Vaughn Martinez (Dawn); and 9 great-grandchildren.  Louella was preceded in death by her husband, Orleans A. Pitre; daughter-in- law, Leona Cortez Pitre; grandchild, Russ Pitre; brothers, Joseph and Rodney Picciola; foster sister, Joanne Collins; parents, Marco and Viola Picciola.  Louella enjoyed attending daily mass, cooking and being with family and friends.  She was an avid New Orleans Saints and LSU fan.  She was a member of the Ladies of LaSalette and Lafourche VFC.  The family would like to extend a special thanks for the staff of Divinity Home Health Services, St. Joseph Hospice and personal caregivers for the care and compassion provided.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Louella's memory to Our Lady Help Ministry, Golden Meadow, LA.  Samart-Mothe Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
