Obituary:  The Daily Messenger (Canandaigua, NY), Friday, 30 April 1954:  Arthur O. Petry, 58, died yesterday Apr. 29, 1954, at the Veterans Hospital.  The body was taken to Gouverneur for burial.

Obituary:  Syracuse Herald Journal (NY), Saturday, 9 January 1943:  Mrs. Arthur Petry, Gouverneur, Dies; Funeral Monday - Gouverneur, Jan. 9 - Mrs. Arthur Petry, 36, resident of this village for 10 years died at midnight Thursday at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hart of 135 Johnstown Street.  She had been ill for several months and was not able to do her work since December, 1940.  Survivors include her husband and one daughter, Rita; three sisters, Mrs. Carl Hart, at whose home she died; Mrs. Garfield Beckstead, also of Gouverneur, and Mrs. Arthur Allen of Rossie; three brothers, Mose Pete of Alexandria Bay, Tenos Pete of Evans Mills and Leo Pete of Carthage; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Edith Pete of Rossie and Mrs. Eva Pete of Gouverneur.  Funeral services will be held in St. James Catholic Church Monday at 10 A.M.  The Rev. Frederick P. Shue, assistant pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Marie Rita Claire Petry:  The Grand Rapids Press (MI), Friday, 27 December 2019:  Morgan, Rita 5/21/1930 - 12/25/2019  Sparta - Rita Claire Morgan, age 89, passed away at Green Acres Cedar Springs surrounded by her family on December 25, 2019.  She was born in Cornwall, Ontario on May 21, 1930 to Arthur and Lena Petry.  She grew up and graduated high school in New York, married her late husband William Morgan in 1948 and they then moved to the Sparta/Comstock Park area.  Rita worked in the medical field as an X-ray Technician, Medical Secretary and an Ambulance Driver/Attendant.  She was the first woman on the crew for Rockford Ambulance.  She also owned and operated the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Sparta for many years. R ita was a 4H Leader, a Girl Scout Leader and was a long-time, active member of Holy Family Parish in Sparta where she served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister.  Rita is survived by her son, William R. Morgan, Jr. of Grandville; daughters, Karin (Joseph) Bowden of Sparta, Sharon Taylor of Sparta and Marianne (Alan) Myers of Cedar Springs; 21 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and daughter-in-law, Pat.  Services for Rita will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 11:00AM at St. John Paul Catholic Church in Cedar Springs with Father Lam Li officiating.  Family will meet visitors at Hessel-Cheslek Funeral Home in Sparta on Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 5-8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM.  There will also be an hour visitation at the church on Monday prior to the funeral beginning at 10:00 AM.  Interment will be in Blythefield Memory Gardens.  Those wishing to make a donation in Rita's memory may do so to Medical Team Hospice or St. John Paul Catholic Church Building Fund.
