MISC:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Wednesday, 28 February 1900:  Orono, Feb. 27 - Nicholas Peters, who lives on Pleasant street and is a machine tender in the paper mill at Basin Mills, was the victim of a frightful accident in the mill this afternoon at about 2:30.  Peters was engaged in putting a pump belt over a wheel when the belt broke and wound tightly around his body.  He was caught and thrown over the revolving shaft.  When went over the shaft he was thrown forcibly against the side of the building and it was from this cause that the greater part of his injuries resulted.  He was carried to his home in Orono and Dr. Kelleher was summoned.  It was at first thought that it would be impossible to save the man's life, so serious was the character of his injuries.  Dr. Kelleher went about his task with a will and late Thursday night the man was resting comfortably.  The principal injuries are internal and they may yet prove serious.  Otherwise than this there is a fracture of the right arm at the wrist, a dislocation of the shoulder blade and a number of flesh and scalp wounds.  Mr. Peters has many friends about town and among his fellow workmen who are full of sympathy for his severe misfortune.  He is about 30 years of age and has a wife and three children.

- The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Saturday, 23 November 1912:  Mr. Nicholas Peters met with an accident, Wednesday, while engaged about his work at the mill.  In some manner one of his fingers of the left hand got caught in the machinery and the end was cut off.  He is in hopes the remaining part of the finger may be saved.  Mr. Peters will not be able to work for some time.

- The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Monday, 30 October 1916:  The Kirstein Agency has leased the house at 20 Salem court to Nicholas J. Peters, who is moving here from Orono.

- The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Thursday, 10 July 1924:  Portland Press Herald:  A 'cripple' who held up Nicholas J. Peters, Portland insurance man, on the road between Gardiner and Brunswick Monday will no doubt devote a little time to weeping and wailing and gnashing his teeth if he ever learns he overlooked a satchel in Mr. Peters' automobile that contained a large sum of money and checks in his haste to get away with $72 in the insurance man's trousers pocket.
