Evening Express (ME), Tuesday, 9 May 1944:  Cpl. Donald A. Peters, USAAF, with Mrs. Peters, is home on a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas J. Peters, 252 High Street.  Corporal and Mrs. Peters have been in Greenville, Miss., where he has been stationed the past two years.

 

Obituary:  Ocala Star-Banner (FL), Tuesday, 21 April 1992:  Ocala - Donald A. Peters, 80, a retired postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service, died April 19, 1992, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.  A native of Orono, Maine, Mr. Peters came here from Portland, Maine, 22 years ago.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ocala and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Air Force.  Survivors include his wife, Gladys H. Peters, Ocala; and a sister, Sally Conley, Portland.  Hiers Funeral Home in Ocala is handling arrangements.

Obituary:  Ocala Star-Banner (FL), Thursday, 26 January 2012:  Mrs. Gladys H. Peters, 91, of Ocala, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala.  A native of Memphis, TN, she moved to Ocala in 1975, coming here from Maine.  She was a former bookkeeper for the A. B. Dick Office Machine Company.  She taught Bunka for many years at the Marion County Senior Center.  Bunka is the Japanese art of Punch Embroidery and Threadpainting.  Mrs. Peters was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Ocala, where she belonged to the Forever Young group.  She was preceded in death by her husband Don in 1992.  She is survived by her niece Mary Ferreri and nephew William H. Roberts, both of Mississippi.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala, with Rev. Kevin Kite officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10 AM until service time.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Ministry at First Baptist Church of Ocala, Ocala, FL.
