Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 13 September 2005:  (photo included) Opelousas - Funeral services for Mr. Nolan Pitre, age 87, will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.  Father Bill Ruskoski will officiate the services.  Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.  Mr. Pitre died on Sunday, September 11, 2005, in the Maison DeVille Nursing Home in Opelousas.  He will be remembered for his many years of service to the community.  He was retired from the Opelousas Police Department with 20 years of service and retired from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff Department with 19 years of service, both under the administration of Howard Zerangue.  He was a member of the LA Police Association, LA Sheriff's Association, and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.  He was a horse trainer as a young man which led to his hobby of horse racing.  He also was a past farmer and a former bus driver.  Time spent with his family, friends, and neighbors was important to him.  He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and fishing.  Mr. Nolan was a devoted husband, and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  Survivors include three sons: Ray Allen Pitre and wife, Geneva of Opelousas; Norris Pitre of Opelousas; and Wayne Pitre and wife, Regina of Arnaudville; two sisters, Celeste Latiolais and Theresa Dupre, both of Opelousas; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Loicy Mae Pitre; one daughter, Linda Pitre, two brothers and two sisters.  Visitation began on Monday at 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.  On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.  A Rosary Service was held at 7 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be the Honor Guard from the Opelousas Police Department and the St. Landry Parish Sheriff Department.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. Pitre's grandsons: Troy, Craig, Chad, and Lance Pitre.  In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Mr. Nolan to the charity of your choice or to LA Hospice and Palliative Care.  Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 7 November 2004:  Funeral services for Mrs. Loicy Mae Pitre, 84, were held at noon Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.  The Rev. Jeff deBlanc conducted the services.  Mrs. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, in J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville.  Survivors include: her husband, Nolan Pitre of Opelousas; three sons, Ray Allen Pitre and his wife, Geneva, and James Norris Pitre, all of Opelousas, and Wayne Pitre and his wife, Regina, of Arnaudville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Pitre was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Myrtis Duplechain; one daughter, Linda Pitre; one brother, Dominic Johnson; and one nephew, Curtis Johnson.  Visiting hours were observed from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services.  A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday.  Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas was in charge of arrangements.

Nolan Wayne Pitre:  Teche News (St. Martinville, LA), Wednesday, 27 July 2011:  Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, July 27, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church for Nolan Wayne Pitre, 61, who passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at his residence.  Entombment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Mausoleum.  Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Regina Taylor Pitre of Arnaudville; his son, Lance Pitre of Abbeville; his daughter, Michon Pitre of Arnaudville; two brothers, Ray Pitre of Opelousas, and Norris Pitre of Washington; one granddaughter, and one step-granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Pitre; and a godchild.  The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Linda Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 1 January 1991:  Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Pitre, 36, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel on North Main in Opelousas with burial in Prairie Ronde Cemetery.  Mrs. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Opelousas General Hospital.  Survivors include: her parents, Nolan and Loily Duplechain Pitre of Opelousas; a daughter, Angela Dawn Pitre of Opelousas; three brothers, Ray Allen and James Morris Pitre, both of Opelousas, and Nolan Wayne Pitre of Arnaudville.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on North Main in Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.
