- Argus and Patriot (Montpelier, VT), Wednesday, 24 November 1886:  Nelson Peters of Burlington, has been working in the Pavilion barber shop at Montpelier during the session of the Legislature, but is now one of the barbers in the shop of William Miers.

- The Burlington Free Press (VT), Friday, 18 December 1891:  Nelson Peters was taken before Justice E. Davis yesterday and pleaded guilty to a third offence of intoxication.  He was sentenced to serve two months in the House of Correction and to pay a fine of $20 and costs.  He appealed and his mother-in-law, Christie Poro, became surety for his appearance in County Court.

- The Burlington Free Press (VT), Tuesday, 9 August 1904:  In city court yesterday afternoon Nelson Peters was found guilty of breach of the peace and was fined $5 and costs of $9.79, with an alternative sentence of 84 days in the House of Correction at Rutland.  He took an appeal.  Peters resisted Deputy Sheriffs George W. Kelley and James B. Brodie, who went to his house with a writ of execution for a graphophone.

- Burlington Daily News (VT), Monday, 11 August 1913:  Nelson Peters has been sentenced to run a six months' term at the State hospital at Waterbury for treatment following his last intoxication.

- Obituary:  Burlington Daily News (VT), Friday, 29 April 1921:  Nelson Peters Drowns in Richelieu River - Well-Known Local Barber Had Been Missing from his home since Easter - News that Nelson Peters, for many years a well-known barber in this city, had been drowned in the Richelieu river was contained in a telegram received yesterday by the local police.  Peters had been missing from his home since Easter Sunday.  The telegram was sent by Langlois and company, undertakers of St. Johns, P.Q.  The telegram contained no particulars of the accident but merely the words "Sorry to notify you that the body of Nelson Peters has been found in the Richelieu river, near here."  It is known that Peters was in St. Johns about two weeks ago but no further information could be obtained regarding him, until his body was dragged from the river.  Mr. Peters, toward the latter part of his life operated a barber shop at the coner of Spring street and Elmwood avenue.  His family consisted only of himself and wife.  Arrangements have been made for the removal of the body to Burlington for burial.

- The Burlington Free Press (VT), Monday, 2 May 1921:  The funeral of Nelson Peters was held yesterday afternoon at four o'clock at St. Joseph's Church.  The Rev. Norbert Proulx officiated at the church and the Rev. J. Larocque at the grave.  Interment was made in Mt. Calvary cemetery.  The bearers were Leo Rogers, George Maynard, William Godette, Alexander Myers, George Englsih and William Charbonneau.

Obituary:  The Burlington Free Press (VT), Thursday, 28 June 1934:  Mrs. Nelson Peters - Mrs. Christy Peters, widow of Nelson Peters of 244 Elmwood avenue, aged 72 years, died last night at the family home following a six weeks' illness.  She was a member of St. Anne's Society and Union of Prayer of St. Joseph's Church.  Three sisters, Mrs. Sophie Curtis and Mrs. Julia Dorey, both of this city, and Mrs. Fannie Lafond of Williston; six nephews and two nieces survive.  Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
