Francois Albert Pitre:  Sun Journal (Lewiston-Auburn, ME), Friday, 8 February 1963:  Farmington - The blood-stained body of an elderly laborer was found this morning in a woodshed behind a camp where he lived alone.  Frank Peters, 73, had apparently been dead several hours, when his body was discovered by a friend, who had gone to the camp to have dinner with him, officials revealed.  Dr. Wallace H. Duffy, Franklin County medical examiner, said it appeared Peters had been dragged into the shed.  His body lay on top of a bucksaw which also bore bloodstains.  One of the man's pockets had been pulled out.  His glasses and their case were found in the snow outside.  The camp was locked from the outside with a padlock but the key was not on Peters' person, Sheriff Dwight Landers said.  Neighbors were quoted by officials as saying they heard a rumpus in the camp vicinity, last night.  Officials said the body was found by George Swain, who had been driven to the area by Philip Bacon, a taxi operator.  Swain shouted to Bacon and the two returned to Farmington to notify the sheriff's office.  A pensioner who did odd jobs, Peters worked Thursday at the W. W. Small hardware store.  His camp was situated just beyond the new high school.  Officials said they were waiting to confer with County Attorney Calvin Sewall of Wilton, who was said to be in Augusta, before taking further action.  Peters has a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Eaton, who lives in Farmington.

- Portland Press Herald (Portland, ME), Sunday, 10 February 1963:  Farmington - The Franklin County Sheriff's Dept. said Saturday night it had uncovered 'new evidence' in its investigation into the mysterious death of Frank A. Peters at his camp home here.  The blood-stained body of the 73-year-old laborer was found Friday in the woodshed near the Upper Middle Street camp where he lived alone.  Kenneth L. French of Farmington, criminal investigator for the sheriff's department, said the 'new evidence' had been found at the scene.  He declined, however, to disclose what it is.  French and Sheriff Dwight Lander Saturday found Peter's new combination mittens and gloves and pocketbook in the camp.  They said a key to the camp was still missing.  The two officers and County Atty. Calvin Sewall of Wilton questioned several persons Saturday and recalled two others for further interrogation.  Medical Examiner Wallace H. Duffy of Farmington said he was withholding a death verdict until he received a full report on the autopsy performed by Dr. Charles F. Branch of Lewiston, pathologist.  He was assisted by Duffy and Medical Examiner Harry Brinkman, also of Farmington.  The officials said that other than superficial cuts, there were no other marks on the body.  Exposure, they said, has not been ruled out as the cause of death.  Funeral services for the victim will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at 71 Main St. with the Rev. Ronald Walden, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating.  He was born Aug. 20, 1889, at Bloomfield, Prince Edward Island, son of Nazaire and Josephine Peters.  He came here 25 years ago from Berlin, N.H.  Mr. Peters served during World War I.  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Eaton of West Farmington, a sister, Mrs. Priscilla Lamere of Berlin, N.H., five grandsons and three granddaughters.  Entombment will be at Riverside Cemetery in the spring.
