Gloria Pitre: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA): Gloria 'Lamae' Pitre Cheramie, age 79, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006. Visitation to funeral time Tuesday at Samart Funeral Home in Cut Off; mass Tuesday at the funeral home with burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano. Survived by two daughters, Sally Cheramie Orgeron and husband, Jimmy, and Vida Cheramie Cheramie, and husband, Neddy; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt J. Cheramie; her parents, Emmanuel and Naomi Gisclair Pitre; one brother Gus Pitre Sr. and infant twin sisters. Seamstress and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary and Homemakers club. Enjoyed traveling and was very active in local festivals. Samart Funeral Home in Cut Off.
