Obituary Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 4 March 1961 - Of Westwego, La., on Friday, March 3, 1961, at 12:30 o'clock a.m., Maurice J. Pitre, beloved husband of Elinora (Nora) Guidroz, son of the late Marius M. Pitre and Ida Elliott, father of Mrs. June Madere, Ray, Patricia and Vada Pitre, brother of Harry, Leo, Herbert and Mark Pitre; age 52 years; a native and lifelong resident of Westwego, La.  Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Clerk of Court Office, Parish of Jefferson, Marrero Land and Improvement Association, Ltd., Avondale Marine Ways and City of Westwego are invited to attend the funeral.  Services from Westside Funeral Home, Inc., Fifth and Ave, D, Westwego, La., on Saturday, March 4, 1961, at 1:30 o'clock p.m.  Religious services at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic church.  Interment in Westwego cemetery.

Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA): 10 January 1990:  Funeral services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mothe Funeral Home in Harvey for Elinora Guidroz Pitre, 79, a native of Larose and resident of Westwego, who died Wednesday at 9:45 p.m.  Visitation is 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at the funeral home.  Interment is in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.  She was the mother of June Ann Madere, Patricia Bumgardner, Vada Marie Wisser and Raymond J. Pitre; and sister of Mildred Vicknair of Houston, Texas.  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice J. Pitre; parents, Julia Galjour and Feliciana Guidroz; sisters, Elvera Breaux, Ida Lefort, Nettie Daigre, Emma Oldendorf and Mary Guidroz; and brothers, Edward, Emile, John and Severn Guidroz.
