Obituary:  Lawrence Joseph Pitre Sr., 65 years of age and a resident of Rte. 1, Box 184, Price St., Montegut, died there Sunday, Nov. 26 (1972) at 9:05 p.m.  He was the husband of Cecelia Crochet Pitre and son of the late Peter Pitre and Mrs. Julian LeBoeuf Pitre.  Children include Ruble and Roland Pitre of Montegut, Harold Pitre of Houma, the late Peter, Lawrence and Bessie Pitre, Mrs. John St. Amant of Montegut, Mrs. Stanley Mann of Beaumont, Tex., Misses Sally and Martha Pitre, both of Montegut.  He was the brother of Harris and Clarence Pitre of Montegut, Mrs. Alvin LeBlanc of Little Caillou, Mrs. Lillian Savoy of Bayou Blue and Miss Angelina Pitre of Montegut, as well as the grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of one.  Mr. Pitre's remains will lie in state at the Montegut Fire Station with burial planned in the Dugas Cemetery.  Religious services have not yet been slated but will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Chauvin Funeral home is handling the arrangements.

Harold Pitre:  April 16, 1940 - March 1, 2021 (80 years old):  We are sad to announce that on March 1, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Harold Pitre (Houma, Louisiana), born in Montegut, Louisiana. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Pitre, Sr. and Cecile Crochet Pitre; and his siblings, Anna Mae St. Amant, Lawrence Pitre, Jr., Peter Pitre, Roland Pitre and Sally Ferguson.  He is survived by: his wife Carol Barbo Pitre; his children, Paul Pitre (Lisa), Paula Pitre Cadiere and Brian Pitre (Angela); his siblings, Helen Mann, Ruble Pitre and Martha Chauvin; his grandchildren, Alex Cadiere, Kaitlyn Cadiere, Jordan Cadiere, Joshua Pitre, Emma Pitre and Olivia Pitre; and his great-grandchildren, Emeri Cadiere and Chase Adams, Jr.

Helen Marie Pitre:  The Courier (Houma, LA), Friday, 4 March 2022:  Houma - Helen Marie Pitre Mann, age 78, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022.  She was a native of Montegut and a resident of Houma, LA.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the graveside service at Dugas Cemetery on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.  Helen is survived by her sons, Kevin G. Mann and wife, Samantha, and Scott A. Mann; brother, Ruble P. Pitre and wife, Peggy; sister, Martha P. Chauvin; sister-in-law, Elaine Pitre; grandchildren, Kelly G. and Gina M. Mann; and great-grandchild, Destin Weicht Jr.  Helen was preceded in death by her son, George G. Mann; parents, Lawrence Maurice Joseph Sr. and Cecelia Nora Crochet Pitre; brothers, Lawrence J., Jr., Peter P., Harold J. and wife, Carol, and Roland P. Pitre; sister, Bessie Pitre, Anna Mae "Noon" St. Amant and husband, John, and Sally Ann Ferguson and husband, William; and brother-in-law, Jerald Chauvin.  Helen was a loving mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed dancing, cooking, going to the casino, and spending time with family and friends.  She will be dearly missed by all whose hearts she touched.  Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

 

Sallie Ann Pitre:  The Marksville Weekly News (Marksville, LA), Thursday, 11 November 2010:  Bunkie - Funeral mass for Sallie Ann Ferguson was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Jack Michalchuk officiating.  Burial was held in Pythian Cemetery.  Arrangements are held under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.  Mrs. Ferguson, age 59 of Bunkie, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Cecelia Pitre; two sisters, Bessie Pitre and Anna Mae St. Amant; and two brothers, June Pitre and Peter Pitre.  Survivors include her husband of 38 years, William Ray 'Bill' Ferguson of Bunkie; her son, William Lee 'Peanut' Ferguson (Sarah) of Evergreen; her daughter, Crystal Ann 'Sunshine' Ferguson of Bunkie; her adopted daughter, Michelle Pasquier of Bunkie; three brothers, Ruble Pitre of Bourg, Roland Pitre of Montegut and Harold Pitre of Houma; two sisters, Martha Pitre of Montegut and Helen Mann of Bourg; and her four grandchildren, Emily Doucet, Jace Ferguson, Tucker Ferguson and Tanner Ferguson.
