Death Notice: The Chicago Daily News (Chicago, IL), Wednesday, 30 October 1935: Morgan Pitre, 15230 Lexington street, Harvey, was questioned last night after his wife, Alvina, 18 years old, died in their home from the effects of poison which she admitted she had taken at noon. Pitre, grief-stricken, was incoherent under the questioning of the police most of the time. He was held for the inquest.

Jim Parker officiating. Mr. Pitre died November 30, 2016, in Mineola. He was born March 3, 1939, in Knox, Indiana to the late Morgan and Rose Pitre. He served in the Air Force and was a business owner in Emory. He was also a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, JoAnne Porter and Suzy Pitre and a granddaughter. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Joyce Pitre, Alba; four sons, Jim Pitre, Jr, Emory, Joseph Pitre, Nelsonville, Ohio, Rob Pitre, Mineola and Robert Arbogast, Grand Saline; two daughters, Gwen Driskill, Alba and Teresa Arbogast, Alba; three brothers, Richard, Donald and David all of Michigan; two sisters Sandy Wiegernik, Grand Rapids, Michigan and Phyllis Sheffer, Michigan and 15 grandchildren.
