Obituary:  Transcript Telegram (Holyoke, MA), Saturday, 17 May 1969:  Mitchell Pete, 60, of 27 Bonner St., Willimansett, died Friday night in the Western Massachusetts Hospital, Westfield, following a long illness.  He was the husband of Florence (Cook) Pete.  He was born in Danielson, Conn., son of the late Mitchell and Lottie (Holmes) Pete and had resided in Willimansett for the past 24 years.  Prior to his illness, Mr. Pete had been employed by the Uniroyal Co., as a tire maker.  Besides his wife, Mr. Pete is survived by six sons, Mitchell Jr., Ronald, and Francis, all of Chicopee, Capt. Richard Pete of the Army, stationed at Camp Devens, Robert and Bruce, both at home; five daughters, Mrs. Joyce Ribeiro of Fairview, Mrs. Loretta Clapp of Nashua, N.H., Mrs. Gloria Bradley of Hazelton, Penn., Mrs. Patricia Funk of Amherst, Ohio, and Miss Beverly Pete, at home; one brother, Leonard Pete of Chicopee; his step-mother, Mrs. Tina Pete of Holyoke; three half-brothers, Hector of East Hampton, Conn., Homer of California, and Frazer of New York; one step-brother, Arthur Dechambo of this city; two half-sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Violette and Mrs. Marjorie Lavarnway, both of this city; 23 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  The funeral will be held from the Arthur J. Brunelle Funeral Home, Willimansett, Monday morning, followed by a high mass of requiem in St. Mary's Church.  Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery, Aldenville.  Calling hours at the funeral home are tonight from 7 to 9 and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Obituary:  Tampa Bay Times (St. Petersburg, FL), Friday, 6 February 2004:  (photo) Pete, Florence E., 89, of Pinellas Park, died Wednesday (Feb. 4, 2004) at St. Petersburg General Hospital.  Born in Grandville, N.Y., she moved here in 1980 from Chicopee, Mass., and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  She enjoyed traveling and bingo.  Survivors include four sons, Robert, Richard and Ronald, all of Chicopee, and Francis, Largo; four daughters, Loretta Clapp, Largo; Gloria Koneschuskey, Hazleton, Pa., Patricia Funk, Chicopee, and Beverly Rivers, Pinellas Park; 36 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.  Memorial Park Funeral Home, St. Petersburg.

Pete, 61, of 267 Chicopee St., an area sports coach and a retired security guard at the Holyoke Welfare Office, died Friday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.  He retired last year.  Born in Bennington, Vt., he lived here most of his life.  He was a longtime coach in the Men's Slo-Pitch Softball League here.  He also was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.  He leaves two sons, Steven Pete of Boston and Jeffrey Pete of Oceanside, Calif.; seven daughters, Dolores Pete and Sally Pete of Springfield, Donna Festa of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Susan O'Driscoll, Danine Deyo and Holly Pete of West Springfield, and Denise Mailhot of Granby, Quebec; his mother, Florence (Cook) Pete of Largo, Fla.; five brothers, Ronald, Richard and Robert Pete of Chicopee, Francis Pete of Largo, and Bruce Pete of Pinellas Park; four sisters, Patricia Funk of Chicopee, Gloria Bradley of Hazelton, Pa., Loretta Clapp of Largo, and Beverly Rivers of Pinellas Park; 19 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter, and his fiancee, Christine Cebula of Chicopee.  He was predeceased by two sons and a daughter - Mitchell in 1979, Joseph in 1986, and Deborah Pete in 1971.  The funeral will be Monday morning at St. Pierre Aldenville Funeral Chapels and St. Rose de Lima Church, with burial in the parish cemetery, all in Aldenville.  Calling hours are Sunday afternoon and evening, and memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Longmeadow.

(Pete) Ribeiro, 57, of 98 Vadnais St., died Monday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.  She was the wife of Anacleto 'Nick' Ribeiro.  Born in Paucutuck, Conn., Dec. 29, 1933.  She was the daughter of the late Florence (Cook) Pete of Pinellas Park, Fla. and the late Mitchell J. Pete.  She lived most of her life in Chicopee.  She was a communicant of St. Anne's Church in the Fairview section of Chicopee.  Besides her husband and mother, she leaves three sons, John Robeiro and Thomas Ribeiro both of Chicopee, and Anthony Ribeiro of Holyoke; six brothers, Mitchell Pete Jr., Robert Pete, Ronald Pete, and Richard Pete all of Chicopee, Bruce Pete of Pinellas Park, and Francis Pete of Largo, Fla.; four sisters, Patricia Funk of Chicopee, Loretta Clapp and Beverly Rivers both of Pinellas Park and Gloria Bradley of Hazelton, Pa.; three grand-daughters, several nieces and nephews.  The funeral will be Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Arthur J. Donald Eugene Pete:  Danielson - Danielson Boy Dies in Rhode Island Pool:  Danielson, June 27 - Donald Eugene Pete, two year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Pete of this town, was numbered among those who lost their lives accidentally in Rhode Island over the weekend.  The child, visiting at the home of Mariano DeSilva, 99 Urban avenue, Marieville, in the greater Providence area, was reported as missing at 8 o'clock Friday night and a search for him began at once.  It was not until Saturday night, however, that the body was found in the Marieville pool, where live bait is kept.  Dr. Mario L. Palmieri, medical examiner, pronounced death due to accidental drowning.  The child had been visiting at the De Silva home for the past six weeks.

Robert Edward Pete:  The Republican (Springfield, MA), Tuesday, 10 May 2022:  Robert Edward Pete, 84, passed away Saturday May 7th, 2022.  Born in Killingly, CT to Florence (Cook) and Mitchell Pete, Sr., he attended Chicopee Schools and was a longtime area resident.  Robert was employed with Goodwill Industries for many years and spent many years with Sunshine Village.  He is survived by his siblings, Patricia Funk of Chicopee, Beverly Rivers and her husband Roger of Florida, Ronald Pete and his wife Theresa of Chicopee, Richard Pete of Southwick, and Francis Pete and his wife Bonnie of Florida, brother-in-law, James Clapp and by several nieces, nephews and his goddaughter, Kimberly.  He was predeceased by his wife, Jean C. (Theroux) Pete in 1983; his siblings, Loretta Clapp, Gloria Koneschusky, Mitchell Pete, Jr., Donald Pete, Bruce Pete, and Joyce Ribeiro and by sister-in-law, Margot and brother-in-law, Frank.  Family and friends are invited to meet for visitation on Thursday May 12th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Brunelle Funeral Home, Chicopee.  Robert's funeral will be held on Friday May 13th starting at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose de Lima Church, in Chicopee.  Burial will be in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert's memory to Lorraine's Soup Kitchen, Chicopee, MA.

Gloria A. Pete:  The Republican (Springfield, MA), Thursday, 22 July 2010:  1942 - 2010 Chicopee - Mrs. Gloria A. (Pete) Koneschusky, 67, loving mother, sister, and friend, died on Tuesday, July 20 at Wilks Barre General Hospital.  She was a forty six year Pennsylvania resident, formerly of Chicopee.  She was born in Danielson, CT on December 27, 1942, a daughter of the late Mitchell and Florence (Cook) Pete, Sr.   She was a graduate of the former Chicopee Trade High School and was a seamstress for many years.  Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling and swimming.  She is survived by two sons, Mark Bradley and his wife Kelly, and Jeffrey Bradley, of PA, two daughters, Michelle Scarfo and her husband Craig of Amherst, and Lisa Donlan and her husband James of PA.  She also leaves four brothers, Robert Pete and Ronald Pete, both of Chicopee, Richard Pete of Southwick, and Francis Pete of Florida, three sisters, Loretta Clapp of Florida, Patricia Funk of Chicopee, and Beverly Rivers of Florida.  She will be sadly missed by three granddaughters, Ashley, Shelby, Faith, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by three brothers, Donald, Mitchell Jr., Bruce, and her sister, Joyce Ribiero.  Funeral services are on Saturday, July 24 at 8am from the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St. in the Willimansett section of Chicopee, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9am at St. Rose de Lima Church.  Burial will follow in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home are on Friday, July 23 from 4-8pm.  In lieu of flowers contributions in Gloria's memory may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, Alexandria, VA.

 

Bruce Allan Pete:  St. Petersburg Times (FL), Friday, 19 October 2001:  Pete, Bruce A., 46, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday (Oct. 17, 2001) at home.  Born in Springfield, Mass., he came here in 1970 from Chicopee, Mass.  He was a hairstylist and most recently worked for the Diabetic Service Foundation.  He was Catholic.  Survivors include his mother, Florence, St. Petersburg; and four brothers, Robert, Richard and Ronald, all of Chicopee, Mass., and Francis, Largo; four sisters, Loretta Clapp, Largo; Gloria Konchecky, Hazelton, Pa., Patricia Funk, Chicopee, Mass., and Beverly Rivers, Pinellas Park.  Blount, Curry & Roel Funeral Homes & Cemeteries, Memorial Park Chapel, St. Petersburg.
