Obituary:  Fort Lauderdale News (Fort Lauderdale, FL), Tuesday, 30 November 1971:  Melven Le Pitre, 81, of 124 South Gordon Road, Fort Lauderdale, Sunday at Broward General Medical Center.  Born in Chicago.  Came here in 1955 from Chicago.  He was a retired insurance executive, a member of AF & AM Pleiades Lodge No. 478 of Chicago.  Masonic funeral services 8 p.m. Wednesday at Blackburn Funeral Home Chapel.  Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Obituary:  Fort Lauderdale News (FL), Tuesday, 26 May 1970:  Alma LePitre, 78, of 124 S. Gordon Road, Ft. Lauderdale Monday at Broward General Medical Center.  Born in Chicago, Gold Star Mother and a member of the American Legion Auxillary.  Survived by her husband Melven; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Blackburn Funeral Home with the Rev. Canon William S. Brace of All Saints Episcopal Church officiating.  Entombment Lauderdale Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

David Albert Lepitre:  The Park Ridge Advocate (IL), 24 January 1946Lt. Dave LePitre Listed Killed in Action in Europe:  First Lieut. David LePitre was killed in action Jan. 17, 1945, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melven LePitre, 225 Wisner Ave., thus ending a year of hope for his safety.  He was previously reported missing when his crew failed to return from a mission over Hamburg, Germany.  Lt. LePitre was a navigator in a B-24 with the 491st Bomber Group, 853rd sqdn., 8th Air Force in England since October, 1944, and had made 10 missions over enemy territory.  He was a graduate of Maine Township High School, 1943, and a member of National Honor Society.  He received the Air Medal in December, 1944.
