Misc.: Alpena Weekly Argus (MI), Wednesday, 22 November 1893: The residence of Stanislaus Pitre, 821 Cavanagh street, was destroyed by fire at 12 o'clock Monday night. Most of the furniture was saved. Mr. Pitre was out of town at the time. The fire is supposed to have originated from the stove. There is a telephone near the house, but the alarm was given by a boy who ran to the engine house, and thus the fire got a big start before the fire boys could reach the place. Paterson & Small had an insurance to the amount of $700 on the property.
