Obituary: Daily World (Opelousas), Thursday, 22 May 1969: Lake Charles - Catholic church funeral services were to be held this morning in Lake Charles for Leonard Pitre, 58, a native of Evangeline Parish and a long-time resident here, who died Tuesday night in a nursing home. Pitre was a retired carpenter, employed for many years by a construction company here. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lanell Wade Pitre; two daughters, Mrs. Sandra Hardee of Conway, S.C., and Miss Debbie Pitre of Lake Charles; four brothers, Willie Pitre of Chataignier, Dennis and Littel Pitre of Mamou, Dudley Pitre of Westlake; a half-brother, Abel Granger of Plaquemine; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Guillory of Mamou, Mrs. Vina Donaldson and Mrs. Monia Fontenot of Lake Charles, and Mrs. Mary St. Romain of White Castle, and four grandchildren.

Obituary: Southwest Daily News (Sulphur, LA), Monday, 15 September 1997: Lake Charles - Funeral services for LaNell Langley, 74, of Lake Charles will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 17, 1997 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Rev. Alan Trouille will officiate. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. until time for service Wednesday. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday. She died Saturday Sept. 14, 1997 in Lake Charles. She was a native of Newton, TX and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Survivors are her husband, Joseph W. Langley of Lake Charles; three step-sons, Roland J. Langley of Griffin, GA, Carl J. Langley of Kinder and Charles W. Langley of Welsh; two daughters, Sandra Penrod of Clover, SC and Deborah Smith of Fayetteville, GA; four step-daughters, Rosemary McKissack of Hartselle, AL, Helena Blanchette of Lake Charles, Windola Cowart of Kinder and Sharon Lantheir of Sulphur; one brother, Lloyd Wade of Houston, TX; three sisters, Bernice Cobbs of Huntsville, AL, Ulene Cunningham of Austin, TX and Wanda Stovall of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren; twenty-four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; twenty-five step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-granddaughter.
