- Springfield Republican (MA), Sunday, 18 July 1943:  Suggestion wins man $50 prize - Louis Peet of Belchertown, Armory Employe, rewarded for idea that improves rifle making - Louis Peet of Springfield road, Belchertown, a machine adjuster at Springfield Armory, has received a cash award of $50 under authorization of the secretary of war for a suggestion relative to a reaming fixture which has improved the manufacture of the M1 rifle.  His suggestion which applies to an operation on the gas cylinder lock has resulted in an increase in production from 200 to 650 pieces per hour.  Peet is a veteran of the first World war, having been in the army from July, 1917 to June, 1919.  He was 22 when he entered the service.  Prior to the outbreak of the war he had worked as a machine repairer in textile mills at Clinton and Rockdale, and after discharge he went back to the mills where he remained until 1928.  The depression turned him to various other occupations until the opportunity came in August, 1940 to join the production force at Springfield Armory.

Obituary:  The Burlington Free Press (Burlington, VT), Wednesday, 22 January 1964:  Alburg - Louis Peet, 69, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening in Morrisville.  He was born in Malone, N.Y., Jan. 1, 1895, and had been a resident of Morrisville for the past year and a half.  Before moving to Morrisville he was a resident of Alburg.  Mr. Peet spent most of his early life in Springfield, Mass.  He was a World War I veteran.  He leaves his widow, Julia; a son, Kenneth of Belchertown, Mass.; three brothers, William of Tupper Lake, N.Y., Henry and Alex of Thompsonville, Conn.; mother, Mrs. Eliza Peet of Tupper Lake, N.Y.; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Fontaine of Springfield, Mass., Mrs. Nellie LaLiberti of Easthampton, Mass., and Mrs. Mary Demars of Tupper Lake, N.Y.; two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Smith Funeral Home, Swanton, where friends may call.  The Rev. Ira Stanton will officiate.  Entombment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.  Donald Wood is in charge of arrangements.

- Springfield Union (MA), Wednesday, 9 May 1951:  Belchertown Woman in two car accidents - Mrs. Louis Peets hit while walking; ambulance then involved in crash - Holyoke, May 8 - The name of Mrs. Louis Peets of Belchertown, injured in that town late this afternoon, has been placed on the danger list of Providence Hospital.  Mrs. Peets is in an unconscious condition and it was impossible to fully determine the extent of her injuries.  While she was enroute to the hospital in the emergency ambulance of the Belchertown Fire Department, the vehicle was involved in a crash at Hampden and Elm Sts. with an Auto Livery taxicab operated by William Silver of Hampden St., this city.  The ambulance was being driven by Joseph J. Kempkes, Jr., of North Main St., Belchertown.  Kempkes, in his report to police, stated that he was traveling south in Elm St., and the siren of his emergency car was operating.  He said that he slowed down at the intersection of Hampden St., and when he started across the street the taxi suddenly appeared and the front ends of the two vehicles were involved in a crash.  Belchertown, May 8 - Mrs. Louis Peets 68, wife of Louis Peets and mother of Kenneth Peets of Maple St., Belchertown, was seriously injured this afternoon when she was struck by a car driven by Ethel Isabell Englund of Fullerton, N.Y.  Mrs. Peets had alighted from a bus, and was struck as she crossed the street to her home.  After having been treated at the scene by Dr. Kenneth Collard of Belchertown she was taken to Providence Hospital in Holyoke where she was reported to be in serious condition.

- Springfield Union (MA), Tuesday, 3 July 1951:  Louis Peet of Belchertown, administrator of the estate of his wife, Jeanette G. Peet, sues Ethel Isabel Englund of Fullerton, Cal., for a total of $32,000 for the death of his wife and for medical care.  Mrs. Peet was struck and fatally injured by the car of the defendant in Maple St., Belchertown, May 9, 1951.

- Death Notice:  Springfield Union (MA), Thursday, 10 May 1951:  Holyoke, May 9 - Mrs. Louis Peets, 68, of Maple St., Belchertown, died late tonight at the Providence Hospital from injuries received when struck by an automobile after alighting from a bus in that town late yesterday afternoon.  Since her admission to the hospital her name has been on the danger list.  Mrs. Peets was struck by an automobile operated by Ether Isabel Englund of Fullerton, N.Y.  While en route to the hospital the emergency ambulance at the Belchertown Fire Department which was carrying Mrs. Peets collided at Elm and Hampden Sts., here with an Auto Livery Co. taxicab, just one block from the hospital.

- Obituary:  Springfield Union (Springfield, MA), Sunday, 13 May 1951:  The funeral of Mrs. Louis Peet, of Maple St., Belchertown, who died of injuries received Tuesday night when she was struck by an automobile, was held today at the A. J. Brunelle funeral home with a solemn requiem high mass in St. Francis Church, Belchertown.  Rev. Andrew F. Sullivan was celebrant: Rev. David Power, deacon, and Rev. Joseph T. Collins, subdeacon.  Bearers were Albert Liberty, Michael Smith, Henry Peet, Wilfred Fontaine, Henry and Joseph Leveillee.  Burial was in St. Rose Cemetery, South Hadley.  Fr. Collins offered prayers at the grave.

Misc.:  Springfield Union (MA), Saturday, 15 November 1958:  Aurore Rose Danis Crowley Peet of 109 Stony Hill Rd., Indian Orchard, was granted a divorce from Louis Peet of 135 Spring St. Friday in Probate Court on grounds of desertion.  Judge Abraham I. Smith issued the decree.  The couple was married in Belchertown Aug. 1, 1953, and resided in Belchertown and Springfield following their marriage.

Obituary:  Springfield Union (MA), Thursday, 1 June 1972:  In Springfield, May 31.  Mrs. Aurore R. (Danis) Peet, 78, formerly of 209 Stony Hill Rd., Wilbraham, widow of Louis Peet.  Funeral at Dickinson-Streeter funeral home, 305 State St., Springfield, Friday at 3:30 p.m. with an organ prelude at 3.  No calling hours.  Interment at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Respiratory Diseases Assn., 393 Maple St., Springfield.

Obituary:  The Burlington Free Press (Burlington, VT), Thursday, 3 March 1977:  Mrs. Julia R. Peet.  Morrisville - Mrs. Julia R. Peet, 84, died at a local nursing home Tuesday afternoon following a long illness.  She was born in Alburg, June 21, 1892, the daughter of Jackson and Geneva (Goodsell) Reynolds.  She is survived by several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at the White Funeral Home in Morrisville Friday afternoon at 2 with the Rev. Albert Strobel officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Interment will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery at a later date.

Leo Kenneth Peet:  Tampa Bay Times (St. Petersburg, FL), Tuesday, 23 July 1991:  Leo K. Peet, 56, of Gulfport, died Sunday (July 21, 1991) at home.  He was born in Holyoke, Mass., and came here in 1989 from Greenfield, Mass., where he was a truck driver for Mayflower Van Lines and Tri-Co.  During the Korean War, he served in the Marine Corps.  Locally, he was a member of the Moose Club and the Eagles.  Survivors include his wife, Sandra J.; twin daughters, Barbara Boiteau, Fiskdale, Mass., and Sherry Kittridge, West Warren, Mass.; two stepdaughters, Terri Barnes, San Antonio, Texas, and Anita Waite, Florence, Mass.; a stepson, Raymond Thomas, Northampton, Mass.; and a granddaughter.  American Burial and Cremation Service, Dunedin.

- Misc.:  Springfield Union (MA), Tuesday, 29 January 1952:  Belchertown, Jan. 28 - Kenneth L. Peet, son of Louis Peet of Maple St., and the late Mrs. Peet, has enlisted in the Marine Corps, and is at Parris Island, S.C., for training.  He had been employed by H. B. Ketchen and Son as a milling machine operator.
